It's a shame but the monied elite are not only dividing Americans,
they are dividing the Democrats. It is why we are divided here. That is why it is imperative that the fight against Citizens United must continue. For those of us for sustainable communities and against the privatization of the public square, no insult will make us silent when we see what we believe is the wrong agenda advanced under cloak of bipartisanship. Those of us that think compromising any further should be replaced with ideas to advance the condition of everyday Americans, whether healthy or sick, rich or poor, abled or disabled, will continue to disagree with those that are comfortable enough with the status quo to view politics as a numbers game or football game to win. It goes deeper. And we are not going away though we are usually blamed for dissention in America or within the party. We feel there is a moral imperative to strive for. This is for understanding. What legacy are we going to leave our children?

3. " should be replaced with ideas to advance the condition of everyday Americans"
What if its not the monied elite, but rather that we just have differing views on what ideas are best to advance the condition of everyday Americans?

6. There IS a solution.
When the Working Class & The POOR realize we have more in common with each other
than we have in common with the Rich, Elite Leadership of BOTH Political Parties.
we can demand "change".

There is "hope".
The Working Class & Poor in Latin America have given us a Blue Print for "change".
What they have accomplished is nothing short of (near) bloodless revolutions,
but you won't hear about it from our Media, or our politicians, who are all invested in the Status Quo.

"The worst enemy of humanity is U.S. capitalism. That is what provokes uprisings like our own, a rebellion against a system, against a neoliberal model, which is the representation of a savage capitalism. If the entire world doesn't acknowledge this reality, that nation states are not providing even minimally for health, education and nourishment, then each day the most fundamental human rights are being violated."
----Bolivian Reform President Evo Morales

FDR said much the same thing in 1944 with his Economic Bill of Rights.

Look SOUTH.
They have shown us how to do it.

VIVA Democracy!
I pray we get some here soon!

Who will STAND and FIGHT for THIS American Majority?
You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their EXCUSES.

14. Yes. Many have taken matters in their own hands there.
We have to generate interest in the American people to generate what they cannot by ballot box any longer to sustain our communities and have a decent life with adequate resources.

7. K&R Vital post.
We cannot allow ourselves to be bullied by the good cop/bad cop meme that if we rock the boat too much we will damage our chances in 2012. GOP creeps, monsters and idiots present themselves in endless succession just to bring home that point! Look at the alternatives so quit yer whining!!

Our liberal leadership has been made example of using THE most POWERFUL deterrent, public humiliation. Any one sticking their neck out is character assassinated and even if they haven't done one damn thing, they will attack his f*cking looks (Dennis Kucinich), and we all remember Howard Dean's scream.

I think we can be united as a party, and even as a country if that is where we set our intention, around human rights issues. When we set our compass to a balance point of health and general welfare, everyone benefits. All of the issues of these times, from jobs to hate crimes and propaganda--all rotate around human rights and self empowerment--EVERYONE'S toes are being stepped on in some way by consolidated money and power.

This country is definitely in a crisis period, and we can either be part of the problem or part of the solution. The solution to division is unity, but to do that I think many people have to be DEPROGRAMMED of their misdirected anger at their fellow Americans, and channel their efforts to the many tasks at hand.

One of the skills necessary to have during a crisis is to be able to calm people down. I know from years working in a trauma room, that is primary. Whatever it takes, if people can somehow be calmed into not seeing you as their enemy, that is a start. Another skill is to recognize when someone is showing signs of stress and to be able to WORK AROUND THEM. Another thing I learned in a trauma room, some people, even doctors, have meltdowns and you cannot allow them to obstruct the tasks at hand.

But another skill during a crisis is to snap people out of the paralysis of fear, and light a fire of self empowerment and confidence---by showing them they are NOT ALONE and to OFFER SUPPORT.

Just some thoughts on division :) Peace

9. Is it possible that we are allowing that to happen?
Is it possible that shifting our focus toward a goal of keeping together and not listening to the media so much? It is the media claiming that competing "special interests" require us to sacrifice each other. I call bullshit. They just love to see infighting.
We can support each other without demanding sacrifice of any of our "special interests." I think supporting each other will bring us closer to having the federal representation we all need.
