dan b012 explains why the Democratic Party is in trouble
Edited on Wed Jun-22-11 07:52 AM by Scuba
Posted by dan b012 this morning on a Milwaukee Urinal/Sentinel thread regarding CEO pay in America

ive been a government employee for 25 years. im not getting rich but lead a decent stable life which is why i accepted the job in the first place.

... my goal is to work 5 more year and retire with full pension benefits at age 57. i am thankful for what i have earned. i feel sorry for those that have lost jobs.

there is a good chance my wife and i will be heading west to retire, very simply i might add while i can still go hiking in the mountains etc.

i will likely no longer vote anymore since neither party no longer represents my interests. I am a white male who seeks to live off the grid as much as possible. thats where true happiness is, not all this constant bs.

on edit, another post from danb 012...

greed is good to a certain extent ut when it gets out of hand like now, there have to be checks and balances. I am disgusted with the repugs AND demos. we need leaders...... this mess can only be settled by sustainable decent lives for the masses otherwise I would advocate revolution and strip the wealthy of what they have and make them live in a car.

2. No doubt, but how wise is it for the Democratic Party to abandon all the Dans?

3. I'm quite happy with my congresspersons. If you have a
problem with yours, work to elect ones you think are better (or run yourself!). And make sure we work to make our Congress Democratic!

4. The Democratic party hasn't "abandoned" all the Dans.
The truth is, if you give up your right to vote, someone else decides for you.

5. What a jackass Dan b012 is.
Edited on Wed Jun-22-11 07:41 AM by robcon
Go hide in plain sight, Dan, and follow your interests, which seem to be collect your pension, and avoid society.

No one abandoned Dan - he'll abandoned the rest of us.

6. He plans to retire at 57 with a full pension in 5 years' time, and thinks the Democrats don't
represent his interests? He's blind. Let the Republicans run things, and his plans will come crashing down.

7. He also retired from a job the GOP thinks should be
privatized if it can be found on the internet. There is no cure for stupidity.

12. What BS ... Dan is gonna get off the grid AND continue to receive pension checks.
Does Dan not see the disconnect there.

You can't get very far off the grid while you are simultaneously cashing checks from the government.

Anyone saying Dems = GOP is trying to depress dem turn out, nothing more.

15. The fact that Dan wants to go "off the grid"...
...suggests that he's not a typical disaffected voter. I understand your underlying point, but I'm not sure this is the best example.

16. Just another "I've got mine, F**K everyone else" person
The "retiring at 57" line reads to me like something a GOP'er would put in. Just to get people to support cutting pensions/unions, etc.

17. ...So, repeating the same thing in 2012 will yield
Different results...Let me think--that is the definition of "crazy".

Here is what the RW's don't "get" about us--We are not afraid to criticize our own--publicly Disagree about it--and still be loyal to our own at the end of the day.
The Dem party truly does have a Huge tent. We are opinionated, diverse, social and refuse to walk a political tightrope to satisfy our leaders. It's called a "Democracy in action". Personally I prefer it to a "regime mentality" with an "11th commandment" that refuses to allow me the right to call BS when I see it, amongst my own.

That's what makes being a Dem so much Fun!
