Pfeiffer to liberals: "I promise he is as frustrated as you are"
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/06/18/ap/politics/main20072254.shtml

Some liberals frustrated by pace of Obama's change

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — What's a frustrated liberal to do? Democrats on the ideological left are grousing that President Barack Obama is just not that into them, and they're soul searching at a big weekend meeting about the strained political relationship as he seeks re-election.

Might they stay home when he asks them to vote for him again?

"We were promised he would be our fierce advocate. And I don't think he has been fierce and I don't think he likes to advocate very much," said John Aravosis, an editor with AMERICAblog who has written about gay rights issues.

But Obama's advisers hope that between now and November 2012 the president can persuade this critical part of his base to turn out in droves again, and the wooing by aides was well under way Friday.

3. FACT - Obama to Wall Street (quote): 'You see i told you i was on your side'
Edited on Sat Jun-18-11 02:47 PM by vroomvroom
Hoping to soak up campaign cash for the 2012 re-election from Wall Street which fueled his 2008 campaign to the tune of $71 million Obama had a closed meeting with Wall Street titans to assure them that he was still on their side and that he had purposely not changed anything during his tenure.

4. Liberal to Mr. Pfeiffer: No. No, he's not
Now, if I hear a report out of today's little golf outing with the Weeper of the House that the President put his driver to good use on that fucking Oompa Loompah's cranium, then I'll conceded that he is about 1/3 as frustrated as I am. But as frustrated? I think not. Unless, of course, the President's frustration is with liberals' and progressives' dissatisfaction with the weak broth we've been presented.

6. 0bama is so frustrated he had to start two new wars. Extend the

10. Get your facts straight. He has NOT started 2 more wars.
He extended the Bush Tax cuts as part of a compromise that extended Liberal goals. He tried to close Gitmo, NIMBY's in Congress blocked him.

When Liberals "spin" they are no different than the Republilcan spin machine.

12. Libya. Yemen. Looks like two new wars to me.
He could close Gitmo tomorrow if he wanted to. And since when did tax cuts for the rich become a Liberal goal?

15. You shouldn't be confusing your spinny-spin with facts. Very tenuous relationship.
He agreed to extend the Bush tax cuts, creating a fiscal disaster that will screw us all, in a capitulation to obvious political blackmail (ending unemployment benefits in the middle of a Depression?!). Another example of being unwilling to fight for what is right, even when it would have been POPULAR.

He has involved the US in a new war in Libya, escalated hostilities massively in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen, and is even trying to overturn the SOFA treaty with Iraq so that US troops can remain there past the deadline that Bush agreed upon (Dec. 31, 2011). You can decide how many "new" wars that means, but it's definitely more war involvements now than when he took office.

He failed to close Guantanamo, allowing Congressional opponents to come up with a way to block the closure many months after it should have already been closed. (The moving of all prisoners to a base in the CONUS could have been accomplished immediately by executive order.)

23. No sale.
Liberal goals involve guaranteed employment for all who are willing and able to work, not just extending unemployment insurance payments to a small number of people for a few more weeks.

11. UN Backs Gay Rights (first time ever)
Maybe some people think advocating means to pay lip service in public and to never actually get anything done.

http://www.gazette.com/articles/rights-120021-backs-time.html

^snip^

The declaration was cautiously worded, expressing "grave concern" about abuses suffered by people because of their sexual orientation, and commissioning a global report on discrimination of gays. But activists called it a remarkable shift on an issue that has divided the global body for decades, and credited the Obama administration's push for gay rights at home and abroad with helping win support for the resolution.

13. I doubt it. Lots of people around here have burned through their unemployment.
I just ran into an old student of mine today who is one of those. He was so gaunt I did a double take when I first saw him. He's mowing yards for a living, but of course more people are doing their own yardwork, since they're also broke, so the pickings are pretty slim.

I see people like him all over this town, and I doubt the president is just as frustrated as they are.

16. Bullshit!
If he would just end the phony wars on terrorism and drugs, (for starters), then I might start listening to him again.

I'll have to vote for Obama again (sigh), but I really don't care for him at all. As a matter of fact, he sucks big time.
