I am grieving the imminent death of one of my closest friends. due to Gov Rick Scott
My dearest lifelong pal, worked hard in construction his whole life, good dad, good husband, a good kind and decent man, hit hard by the crash and fell off of a cliff with a genetic liver defect, was on a medicaid liver transplant list that Gov Rick Scott dispensed with.

Just got a call from his sister that he's been checked in to hospice.
The end is nigh.
I'm heading out to central Florida to say goodbye while he's still conscious.
He's 52.

Between weeping sessions, I'm saying FUCK the Republicans!

48. First I am so very sorry for your loss. And also this needs a link
to a page where the information about what Scott did is available because I checked one of the freeper forums and they are denying this. (This particular thread)

7. Having been so close to someone like him, it's been a net gain for me.
Its his family and kids who've not had as much time, not nearly enough time w/him as I have. It is they that I deeply grieve for.

he just doesn't care. I wonder when the American people are going to get tired of the wealthy killing (yes killing, through neglect starvation, homelessness and denial of healthcare) their parents, children, their spouses, their friends and neighbours?

23. Rick Scott understands - he stole from Medicare at the cost of many people
It's people like Rick Scott that have made health care cost so much and put programs to help people in jeopardy.

58. I think he only cares about the real life consequences
that turn up in his off-shore account. He KNOWS that he will not be re-elected. IMO, he wants to make sure his retirement is guaranteed.

I bet he'll retire as an ex-pat.

59. Sorry to disagree
Walker knows the real life implications.

Those effected aren't contributors to his re-election, aren't well to do and not worth saving in his eyes.

This is why I vote.

25. When one party controls the state government, gives tax breaks to corporations
And pays for those tax breaks by cutting assistance to people who need it to live, they DESERVE the blame.

Florida Democrats have been ineffectual, but Republicans have now been in charge of the state for over twelve years and have been abusing their power for every single one of those years. Florida now has the reputation of being one of the most corrupt state governments in the country.

They f*cking ARE to blame.

Perhaps if your friend was a clinically brain dead woman who was in a coma for 10+ years you'd have the government rushing to save him. That seems the norm in Florida.

My prayers are for your friend and his family. It's a shame it's come to this.

61. Yes and many of those "stupid fucking idiot voters"
are seniors in their 60's and 70's on pensions and social security who don't want their tax $$$$ going to help ANYONE. Unfortunately for them alot of what the f*uck of a governor, and his radical RW legislature are passing is eventually going to hit them right where it hurts; reduced medicare and medicaid, limited access to health care and yes...they will have to face the Republican Death Panels. I'm a senior and I am crazy yelling at people in my age group all the time. Some have begun to see the light, but there are others so entrenched in their beliefs, nothing will change their minds. The Republicans, RW radio and to some extent the MSM have done such an unbelievable job of brainwashing this demographic group, they cannot see the truth.

As a health care worker, I've watched the Repukes try to gut the medicaid program here in Florida for over thirty years. Scott's just finishing the job. I cannot express how evil these people are. Wish there was such a thing as a compassion transplant.

It's no comfort I know, but Scott's not going to get a second term. Even his Republican cronies have finally recognized what a corrupt slime-ball he is. Too late for your friend, and many, many others.

I can't even begin to express how much I despise him.
