Romney Rejects Pro-life "Pledge" as Flawed
Mitt Romney has rejected the GOP cult approach abortion. He's screwed.

Former Massachusetts Gov. and current GOP presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney is refusing to sign a pledge penned by the pro-life group 'The Susan B. Anthony List.'

The pledge calls for the nomination of judges "who are committed to restraint and applying the original meaning of the Constitution, not legislating from the bench."

It also demands the selection of pro-life appointees for cabinet positions and the advancement of "pro-life legislation to permanently end all taxpayer funding of abortion," as well as the defunding of Planned Parenthood.

"Mitt Romney pledged in the last campaign that he would be a pro-life president and of course he pledges it today," said Romney Campaign communications director Gail Gitcho. "However, this well-intentioned effort has some potentially unforeseen consequences and he does not feel he could in good conscience sign it."

1. But if he is the nominee (and he may be) this helps him a lot.
A lot of independents who will never consider Bachman or Santorum will look at somebody who sounds ready to go against his party extremists.

11. can he win the (R) nomination with this being thrown at him at every debate?

Along with his health care reform, and the fundies don't like that he is Mormon.

I'll agree that in the general election this could help him. I just don't know if he will get that far. Remember in '08 at this time most people were thinking it would be Giuliani who won.

4. If the current POTUS does not dramatically change
as in fighting for the people instead of constant capitulation to the pubs along with a big change in the economy you will be very well be saying POTUS Romney. No change then which ever pub wins Super Tuesday will be POTUS, that is just reality today.

7. Hmmmm
Named for suffragist Susan B. Anthony, SBA List identifies itself with Anthony and several 19th-century women's rights activists; SBA List believes Anthony and other early feminists were opposed to abortion. Regarding Anthony's abortion beliefs, SBA List has been challenged by scholars and pro-choice activists; Anthony scholar Ann D. Gordon and Anthony biographer Lynn Sherr argue that Anthony "spent no time on the politics of abortion."<9>

10. They always do that
The Left comes up with an idea, then the right counters with something that sounds similar, but has some type of patriotic twist to it. I'm surprised they didn't call it the "Betsy Ross List" or "Dolly's List" (Dolly Madison) or something. One thing I can think of that is different is the Coffee Party in Response to the Tea-Bagger Party, though.
