Various factions on the left are not satisfied with President Obama...
Edited on Fri Jun-17-11 06:09 PM by MrScorpio
And I'm sure that if you'd ask each of these factions, they'll all provide, what they feel, are cogent reasons for that dissatisfaction.

On the right, much of the same thing exists with their leadership as well.

In the Center, many of them are not happy with anyone.

This feeling comes from an overall feeling of disenfranchisement and is a direct result of the process that we, as a society, use to isolate individuals as if it's supposed to be a good thing. It's part and parcel indicative of the overall political system that we have built in this country. A system built to encourage apathy.

"You should be free" to go off and do your own thing. "Live off the land!" "Don't let anyone tell you what to do!"

This is actually a ruse to get people to stop considering what is in the best interests of everyone. "We don't need unions, they did their jobs," and "We need as little government in our lives as possible," are all common refrains. What they don't tell you that if you reject government, that doesn't mean it's going anywhere. As a matter of fact, the less that people participate in government, the more that government works for the best interests of the few and the powerful rather than the best interests of everyone. They don't tell you that unions are needed to help you keep what you've already won.

The message has been told to us to divorce ourselves from whomever is abusing us.

Guess what…. That's exactly what the powers that be want to have. It's classic DIVIDE AND CONQUER. That is the best thing to do to facilitate nothing but further abuse.

The truth is that people have to pick sides and stick with them. They have to participate. But most of all, they must do this from an advantageous position. Gather forces and show the people at the end that they pick that something is being brought to the table. Force those at the top of the food chain to see why you are important. Have them acknowledge your worth.

It's why things like proportional representation and parliamentarian coalitions are key to furthering the cause and implementation of democracy where ever they are used. Why liberalizing voter rolls, and in some places making voting mandatory, instead of constricting voter rolls are essential. These are key to democratic self determination.

Protests, demonstrations and even open revolts are symptoms of a societies whose governments are not effectively representing their peoples.

We've allowed MONEY to be the prime component behind who is important and who is not important in America... And that must change. They only people who can change it are those who are on the outside, but have all the numbers to take back the reigns of government away from those who guard the purses strings of the people who financed them.

What we need is more people to participate in our own democracy, not less.

So, stay in the fight… And make sure to bring a friend.

2. The O'Jays said it well.
Money money money money, money (x6)
Some people got to have it
Some people really need it
Listen to me y'all, do things, do things, do bad things with it
You wanna do things, do things, do things, good things with it
Talk about cash money, money
Talk about cash money- dollar bills, yall

For the love of money
People will steal from their mother
For the love of money
People will rob their own brother
For the love of money
People can't even walk the street
Because they never know who in the world they're gonna beat
For that lean, mean, mean green
Almighty dollar, money

For the love of money
People will lie, Lord, they will cheat
For the love of money
People don't care who they hurt or beat
For the love of money
A woman will sell her precious body
For a small piece of paper it carries a lot of weight
Call it lean, mean, mean green

Almighty dollar

I know money is the root of all evil
Do funny things to some people
Give me a nickel, brother can you spare a dime
Money can drive some people out of their minds

Got to have it, I really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Some people really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Got to have it, I really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Lay down, lay down, a woman will lay down
For the love of money
All for the love of money
Don't let, don't let, don't let money rule you
For the love of money
Money can change people sometimes
Don't let, don't let, don't let money fool you
Money can fool people sometimes
People! Don't let money, don't let money change you,
it will keep on changing, changing up your mind.
