I'm starting to pack up my possessions--the fire is getting close.
The Monument fire here outside Sierra Vista doubled in size last night thanks to strong winds. Many folks have lost their homes, no deaths yet as far as I know. The fire is moving down from the once beautiful Huachuca Mountains (and the where the rich folk live) and has jumped the highway and is headed this way. This shit has my stomach in a knot. I built my two story house by myself and I ain't leaving. I'll be up on the roof with my hose.
5. I know you'll leave if the fire gets close because it would hurt so many people
if you were hurt or killed. I know we would be devestated and your home, no matter how much you love it is not worth your life. I know you'd say the same to any of us. Hopefully the fire will not come any closer but please leave if it does, fire is nothing to mess with and I know you know that too.
16. Please stay safe...we have smoke all around us today.
And I'm reminded of those who have to flee their homes and schools because of the fires. I have hardly been able to go out this week due to the smoke with my asthma.
22. omg, panader0 please be careful, don't get too close to the flames
