I see nothing wrong with sexting a partner. Sexting strangers...not so much. Getting a sext from my husband puts a smile on my face. From a stranger...not so much.

Blame it on the teenagers, it's all their fault! Plus, it's easier for dh to respond to a text of mine than take a call while he's out on the manufacturing floor because of the noise level.

That is to say, if you are a professor, and maintain a Twitter or Facebook account with your university affiliation listed, on which you permit students follow or friend you ... do you sext random students? Do you photograph yourself in the university fitness center's locker room? If so, you will likely be fired if the behavior is discovered, even if you are tenured.

I don't get why people don't understand this was not private, in the sense that this was not just Joe Blow in his den after work but someone who attracted followers under the account of "Representative" AW. Huge huge difference from you and me. Our habits are irrelevant here. This entire episode hinges around the fact that it was NOT entirely personal and private: people who were motivated to follow the representative because of his politics were, at least in one prominently admitted case (and probably far more) sent unsolicited suggestive photos. You can't use your power to hit on people.
