Canada: Parliament votes to extend military mission in Libya

Parliamentarians voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to extend Canada's participation in the NATO-led mission in Libya by three-and-a-half months.

The extension would keep Canada in Libya to the end of September, and it was unclear late Tuesday if MPs will be required to vote on another extension should the alliance fail to achieve its goals by then.

The government's resolution passed 294 to 1, with Green Party Leader Elizabeth May the lone voice of dissent.

The measure was supported by both the NDP and the Liberals after the government indicated it would include amendments by both parties calling for an increase in humanitarian and diplomatic efforts.

What is wrong with Canada, I can understand the U.S., but I have always expected better out of Canada.

Does Canada know something that we don't?
And how dare they try to take our war away from us.

someone actually gets to vote on this... wouldn't it be nice if we got a say in whether we go to war too?

4. Most of our country is too busy to care.
Our country is too busy following these train wrecks.
