A Fox Business host has apologised on air after referring to guests of Barack Obama at the White House as 'hoods in the hizzy'.

Conservative TV star Eric Bolling was accused of 'revolting racism' after he made the comments on Friday as a means of chastising the President's engagement with Ali Bongo Odimba, the president of Gabon in Africa.

In a gratuitous reference to linguistic quirks of rap stars such as Snoop Dogg, he said: 'Guess who's coming to dinner? A dictator. It's not the first time he's had a hoodlum in the hizzouse.'
