Debbie Wasserman-Schultz ACU Rating 0.67. Kucinich ACU rating: 9.07

A question has come up about Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's "liberalness." I think this post will answer that question. Who do you think has a more "progressive" voting record? Debbie Wasserman Shultz or Dennis Kucinich...

American Conservative Union Rating (Lower is better):

Wasserman-Schultz
2010: 0.00 2009: 0.00 Lifetime: 0.67

Dennis Kucinich
2010: 0.00 2009: 12.00 Lifetime: 9.07

2010 Americans for Democratic Action Rating (Higher is better):

Wasserman-Schultz and Kucinich 90%

Part of the reason Kucinich's number is so high is that he was previously (currently?) anti-choice.

1. Prior to 2002 Kucinich was anti-choice. After 2002 his views changed. He is currently rated 100%
by NARAL's Congressional Record on Choice

That they mark the past verses ones present views does not make it accurrate

This is not to say one is more or less liberal than another, but the criteria does not appear to be sound

In addition, when Kucinich was "pro-life", at least he was consistent. He was also anti-war, against capital punishment, pro-welfare, and helping those who have rough times, unlike the "right-wing" anti-abortion set which is for war, capital punishment, and the philosophy, I got mine, screw those who don't

Putting things in perspective as I stated above is probably a better criteria of "liberalness"

2. DK gets a 100% rating from NARAL.
The "currently" question you ask has been answered by those who care about the issue.
