Did Daryl Issa Know Breitbart's Goons Were Stalking High School Girls & Fail To Stop It?
Edited on Mon Jun-13-11 06:06 PM by sabrina 1
What we do know is that an Issa aide was made aware of it, according to the two stalkers themselves. Seamus Kraft (see below)was contacted by Mike Stack and “Dan Wolfe” and informed him of their activities, and we also know that he did not ask them to stop.

Issa's aide has been contacted by The Smoking Gun since then and asked to comment on the involvement of Issa's office in the affair. This is the result of that contact:

Asked this afternoon about Weiner-related contacts with the toxic Twitter Twins, Kraft said, “I don’t recall that right now.” After saying that, “I have exchanged e-mails with Mike Stack before” Kraft promised he would call back a reporter in 15 minutes after conducting some research. By press time--nearly two hours later--Kraft had not called back with the results of that research (though Kraft did start following TSG's Twitter feed at 2:55 PM).

Seamus Kraft (pictured above),
press secretary and “director
of digital strategy,” for the
House Committee on Oversight
& Government Reform, which is
chaired by Issa, a California
Republican.

When Operation Get Weiner went into effect, apparently around the time he wrote the letter to Clarence Thomas (in Feb/see HERE.) online rightwing operatives went to his Twitter acct to spy on his supporters. They focused on young High School girls as apparently the goal was to smear him in the worst possible way.

A 'rumor' was spread, the source of which even those who were spreading, do not know, that Weiner 'has a problem with young girls'. To find out if it was true, the keyboard warriors went to work singling out his youngest supporters and then began harassing and stalking them.

Blogger Lee Stranahan has found 'Dan Wolfe' and secured an online interview with him. He did disappear, but claims he is talking to Stranahan to 'clear my name'. Asked why he was retweeing the 'rumor' about Weiner, even he admits, he didn't believe it was true, but did it because he hated Weiner's politics.

Blogger Lee Stranahan's Interview With Danwolfe7676

danwolfe7676 (6:05:23 PM): Let me finish my answer
danwolfe7676 (6:05:53 PM): I don't see what I was doing for months and months as takng him down. I think you guys view it that way in the aftermath
danwolfe7676 (6:06:02 PM): I never thought he would be that bad
danwolfe7676 (6:06:26 PM): That whole rumor thing that everyone thinks they've found the rosetta stone
danwolfe7676 (6:06:32 PM): in my tweets
danwolfe7676 (6:06:37 PM): is ridiculous
danwolfe7676 (6:06:46 PM): You all focus on me mentioning Weiner
danwolfe7676 (6:06:51 PM): I went down a list
danwolfe7676 (6:07:00 PM): of everyone that fit that description and speculated
danwolfe7676 (6:07:03 PM): who it could be
danwolfe7676 (6:07:09 PM): I never really took it seriously
danwolfe7676 (6:07:19 PM): That's why when this all happened I was really amazed
danwolfe7676 (6:07:24 PM): I couldn't beleive it
danwolfe7676 (6:07:40 PM): I thought it was just another rumor/blind item
danwolfe7676 (6:07:47 PM): those things come through all the time
danwolfe7676 (6:08:04 PM): it was another way for me to have a little fun tweaking the other side.
danwolfe7676 (6:08:15 PM): I mentioned Frank Rangel, Weiner
danwolfe7676 (6:08:32 PM): I said I would love it to be Weiner and/or a comination of all three (gross)
danwolfe7676 (6:08:49 PM): Never tried to hide that
danwolfe7676 (6:08:57 PM): But did I think it would happen?
danwolfe7676 (6:08:59 PM): No
danwolfe7676 (6:09:10 PM): I never thought someone would be that careless
danwolfe7676 (6:09:15 PM): But I really think
danwolfe7676 (6:09:18 PM): to this day

The bottom line is they did harass young high school students who were frightened by the harassment and complained about it.

The 17 year old who was the subject of the visit by the police last Fri. DM'd Weiner to report the harassment. One of the five contacts between the two. To try to help her, he deleted her from his follow list and apologized.

The really vile part of all this is that the high school students were interested and excited about politics and especially in Weiner as he had inspired to get involved. This was turned into a sick rumor. If just having supporters who are high school students makes you a pervert, then Republican Reps. better delete all of their high school followers, and Sen Schumer an Rep. Coons, also followed by the girl, need to do the same.

But none of them had called out Clarence Thomas, so they were not the targets.

It is too exhausting to try to demonstrate the extent this mob went to, over months, to harass Rep. Weiner and his supporters. But it is truly frightening to know that if a young person gets interested in politics, strange grown men and women will target them for harassment if they are on a personal destruction campaign against a member of the opposing party.

And some of them may not be the most savory characters:

The Smoking Gun managed to get Emails regarding bringing Daryl Issa into the campaign between two of the perpetrators:

This aggressive approach was standard for Wolfe and Stack, who had spent months excoriating Weiner over his looks, his supposed sham marriage to a Hillary Clinton aide, and even his wife, whom they accused of having ties to al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. An online crony of the duo even launched a fake Twitter account--“@repneedledick”--that also viciously singed the liberal Democrat.

At 8:41 PM, Wolfe wondered, “You think we should wait til tomorrow?” Thirty minutes later, Stack answered, “unless you wanna do tonite…Seamus will get back to me in the morning, but we don’t need to wait for him. He can be of help later on if needed.

Even some who were not fans of Weiner, ie Stranahan, in the end found the tactics used to go after him to be reprehensible:

Exclusive: My Emails with PatriotUSA76

If Patriot is guilty of anything here, it is Twitter stalking. The very tactics he used against RAW, are now being used against him. The tactics used against my musician friend (and collaterally, me!) by his cyber stalker even made me wonder fleetingly if Patriot and that person were one and the same.

......

You can be highly effective, using highly disgusting tactics.
And these are the tactics that PatriotUSA76 used, in order to hoist the Congressman on his own petard. He watched the guy's followers, he messaged them, he took notes, and when the Congressman made a mistake, he pounced with lightning speed.

Addendum C: 6/2/2011: Dan Reihl sent me a link to this. Turns out Patriot was maybe emailing a whole buncha peoples. Cyberstalkers love attention, as long as it's anonymous attention. Which is weird, since the attention isn't towards you, it's toward your sock puppet. Perhaps this is the impulse of the artist turned horribly wrong? "Here, look at what I created!"

And when the tables were turned on these Rightwing Keyboard Warriors, they ran away and hid, then crawled back 'to try to set the record straight, whining about how misunderstood they were as can be seen in the Stranahan interview with Patriot76/Danwolfe above.

It's disturbing to think that a US Congressman may have been aware, his aide certainly was, that High School girls were being targeted and stalked by some very unsavory individuals and chose to do nothing to stop it.

It's also interesting to note that the media has failed to ask Daryl Issa if these kinds of dirty tricks campaigns that involve the stalking of minors are an appropriate way to behave in the political arena and if he is ready to condemn what went on apparently for many months with considerable collateral damage, in the name of the Republican party and apparently with the knowledge of his office.

So far, only the Smoking Gun has attempted, and failed, to get a statement from Daryl Issa's office.

Oh, and the Calvin Klein underwear photo that was mistakenly sent out to twitter? Both Politico and Stranahan believe Cordova, the college girl who received it, who believes it was meant for the Porn Star.

Additional: 6/3/2011: Cordova ........ says she thinks the photo was meant for pornstar Ginger Lee. I consider this possible.

Edited to sum up: They created a crime and then spent months trying to attach Weiner to that crime. In the end they did not find a crime. They did uncover sex between adults and that was good enough as it turned out, to create the media frenzy they had envisioned. It takes some sick minds to do that imo. To be willing to destroy lives for political purposes. But that's just my opinion.

PS: What they are trying to do to Hillary Clinton and Weiner's wife is equally sickening. Suffice it to say that if they succeed once again, it will only be because no one is willing to expose them.

2. You don't want to hear anything bad about Republicans,
then skip my posts. I tend to go after THEM, rather than Democrats.

If you dispute anything in the OP, I will correct it. I made is short, the amount of evidence against them is massive. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

19. It's hard to get Democrats to pay attention to these
people. I would have thought by now they are aware of them. And they should stop giving into them as all it does is encourage them. But for some reason they can't do it fast enough

3. Let's be clear
Regardless of what Weiner did, they have no business doing what they did, they were out of line. Right-wingers tend to go overboard about everything.

6. Yes, but when they started they did not know about his
sexual exploits online. Someone decided to try to turn him into a predator. They spread the rumor on twitter, and that was all it took to start a huge effort over months to try to make it true.

And the admission by Danwolfe that he did not believe it, but thought it would 'fun' to spread it around, shows how devoid of any kind of decency they are.

10. I did not include half of what is available, but even they know
they more than crossed legal lines, many of them who were involved, have now deleted their accounts and as in the case of Danwolfe, disappeared as they were afraid of being in 'legal trouble' as one of them said. So, yes this does warrant an investigation imo.

11. So did these "stalkers" send pictures of their erect cocks to random women?
Did they send messages to them along the lines of "wow a jewish girl who sucks cock! this thing is ready to do damage!"

Or was that pretty much just Weiner?

12. No, they did much worse than that. But then, I guess that depends
on how you view sex between consenting adults as opposed to stalking and harassing innocet teenage girls.

13. "Asked if she was taken aback by Weiner's decision to send the photo, she replied, 'Oh gosh, yes.' "
"She never sent him anything provocative".

"The image was not in keeping with the tenor of their previous interactions".

"Sex between consenting adults"? Or stalking?

14. Exactly, she was surprised, because there had never been
anything inappropriate in their relationship. Now she says she believes it was sent to her by mistake, and was intended for the porn star.

It's very easy to do that on twitter's DM system ~ it happens regularly. But if you'd rather not believe her, and believe the worst of Weiner, that's your choice.
