I have one question for every candidate for Mayor of San Francisco
The one thing Gavin Newsom and Chris Daly have in common is their kids will never grow up in the City or see the inside of a San Francisco Public Schools classroom. I realize that not every candidate for Mayor has kids, so I guess I would like to know this: What vested interest, other than their political careers, do they have in the future success of the City?

1. Tell me more. Do either of them HAVE kids?

Do they both LIVE within the city limits?

The q. about public schools... and the implication that they're bad because the elite don't use them ( if that is indeed your implication) is, at least arguably, a valid one; but is that in fact what you are saying?

2. They each have kids.
Daly sat on the Board of Supervisors for a long time and Newsom served as mayor for two terms until he was elected Lt. Gov. last year. Daly bought a house in Fairfield and moved his wife and kids out there in 2009 while he continued to serve on the Board until he was termed out last January. Newsom and his wife are moving in with her parents in Marin County claiming that their four-bedroom house is two small for their two babies.

3. So... neither of them live in the city in which one will be...
... chief executive?

That's unthinkable ( if not illegal) here (NYC).

'Course ,here, the ruling elite send their kids to "private" schools ( or 'out of state' prep schools).

And the rabble get to fight over what's left.

and got Thom and Chris to come out and talk for a few minutes. Actually, Thom did some stand up. Chris's office called me and told me he had to cancel because his wife was in labor. So I was sitting at the bar, going over the running order and in bounces Chris Daly. He said, she isn't progressing so I thought I'd come anyway.

(So, how progressive do you have to be to have Chris Daly's kids? lol)

There's no comparison between the two. Chris fights to keep the city and its resources for San Franciscans. Newsom is like a one man Chamber of Commerce.
