Change of heart on Weiner
After mulling it over, I think the guy should not resign. He didn't do anything illegal, or at least no illegality has been uncovered yet, and evidently what he did was either consensual or he had reason to believe it was consensual. His problem is with his wife, not with anyone else.

I DO think, however, that his reelection bumper sticker should be GIGGITY GIGGITY GOO, but that's a different story.

He's a poon hound, and that is not illegal.

1. If it's okay for Vitter to stay on I see no reason for Weiner to go...
...what Weiner did was monumentally fucking stupid, but it wasn't illegal...Vitter on the other hand...????

13. but because of statute of limitations, nothing criminally can be done to Vitter.
Its just morally wrong for both men to stay after lying.

2. My problem is with his judgment
If he could display such poor judgment in his personal life, what makes you think his ability to make good decisions isn't compromised?

Poor impulse control, lack of empathy, narcissism, feelings of entitlement--these are not qualities I would want in an elected official.

4. Just as there are high-functioning autistics
There are probably high-functioning poon hounds.

8. Well, he certainly wasn't looking out for his wife.
I stand by my "poor judgment" comment. He demonstrated poor judgment in sexting strangers, and in assuming that the women were adults. He demonstrated poor judgment in lying about it. He demonstrated poor judgment by assuming he wouldn't be caught.

12. So move to his district and vote against him...
otherwise he doesn't represent you and the qualities you would want in an elected official have nothing to do with him. His constituents from what I hear could care less about all this, much like Charlie Rangel's constituents will keep sending Rep. Rangel back to the House no matter what he's accused of.

3. And also as many including Sam Seder have mentioned, his constituents...
...are overwhelmingly supportive of him. His constituents are the people he's most directly responsible to and when other political elements start getting in the way of that, so everyone has to register just how tightly they're clutching their pearls, I find myself wondering why they're asserting that their opinion should hold more weight than those who elected him?

5. The only ones who determine if he should leave or not are his constituents. He is ONLY beholding to
them and the country, not a political party

9. He can be a good congressman in the day time, even if every night he masturbates furiously
into the early hours, while tweeting pictures of his erect cock to random women and bragging about his "ridiculous bulge" (at least, while his wife is away).

Some voters may not be happy voting for this guy, but no laws have been broken. If his constituents want to keep him, who am I to second-guess them?

10. I have never advocated his resignation. BUT...
He sent lewd pictures and communicated with not one, not two, not three, but SIX random women he didn't know at ALL on the internet. People he didn't know and couldn't even come close to trusting. Now it's an issue and it's the ONLY thing we're talking about. And we wouldn't be if he hadn't been such a fucking fool. His credibility is shot. He clearly has ZERO sense of judgement if he thought his actions would not get out. Fucking idiot. How did you think this would end, Weiner? I really thought you were a smart man.

He reflects poorly on our "product". We are Democrats. He used the same account for public communication as he used to tweet his peeper. That's weird and wrong. If any of us had an account on Twitter or Facebook that we used for our high-profile jobs, then used it to find customers/potential customers who liked us to troll for people we could "cyber" with THEN used the SAME said account to do that, we'd quite understandably be toast.

I understand why the party leaders don't want the brand being associated with this shit.

And further, my party is facing a very difficult and very important fight here in Wisconsin right now. While Weiner is not from WI, any damage to the party directly hurts me and us. Again, I understand.

11. I think his reelection sticker should say
'I've got the balls to fight for the American people'.

His poll numbers went UP after the penis photo came out.

Glad you changed your mind and had the guts to say so :-)
