1. He won't have anything to do with it either way. In his zen passivity he'll
just let it happen.

2. His 'comfortable shoes' moment is gone.
An aggressive bottom moment should have happened a year ago.

3. Why he accepts the Republicans framing the debate about deficits
is beyond me. He may not be able to get anything through Congress, but he sure as hell can frame the debate about JOBS. He can ask why this Congress isn't doing anything about JOBS and can call them a "Do nothing Congress". The People would be on his side as the polls all show it. Instead, we get talks about austerity and stuff. People are suffering and he talks about cutting. He needs more Democrats in Congress to pass a jobs program plus he needs to point the finger at the Republicans for obstructing it.

11. He has not been talking about job creation.
He has been giving speeches, but he has not made any proposals that will create jobs.

5. Obama is not going to create jobs, he thinks that's not his job
Obama Says Private Sector Must Lead U.S. in Creating Jobs
http://www.businessweek.com/news/2011-06-11/obama-says-private-sector-must-lead-u-s-in-creating-jobs.html

June 11 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama said the private sector must take the lead in creating jobs as the as the economy recovers, with the government assisting by making sure workers have the necessary skills.

“Government is not, and should not be, the main engine of job-creation in this country,” Obama said in his weekly address on the radio and Internet. “That’s the role of the private sector.”

6. Please re-read: He said that government is not THE MAIN engine of job creation!
Edited on Sun Jun-12-11 11:26 PM by Liberal_Stalwart71
As a federal government employee, he is right!! Yes, the government creates jobs, but that's not its ONLY job. The private sector does that through the hiring of people.

In addition, the president is further right because most proposals begin in the Congress--the legislative branch of the United States--not the Executive branch!!!

Why aren't you holding Republicans accountable for not advancing for a jobs bill? When the Democrats were the majority, there were several jobs bills--including a small business stimulus--that made it out of the House and stalled in the Senate due to Republican filibuster!! HOW SOON WE FORGET...

The Obama hatred on this forum is fast becoming ridiculous.

All you have to do is go to the White House webpage, or the OMB website to see the president's proposed budgets for FY2011 and FY2012. You'll see that these budget proposals put forward for the Congress to review and set into legislation contain many initiative to spur job growth and retention.

Here's a link to the president's budget:

Put aside your hatred and impatience for the president and understand that the REAL ENEMY is the Republican Party!!!!!!!!

9. right now, the government needs to take care of the people
You read the article again. Right now millions are out of work and Obama isn't going to do what needs to be done to fix the problem. The private sector is not going to create jobs. They have shipped all the jobs offshore. Promoting education for jobs that don't exist isn't going to help.
Don't ad-hominem attack me as having "hatred" for Obama. I voted for him. People who think that people who tell the truth about what Obama is doing and what he is not doing are motivated by "Obama hatred" are just fooling themselves.

About those budget proposals...they're too small and won't do the job. The senate democrats are trying to get a better jobs bill, but Obama just told them to back off!

White House says Senate Dems' jobs bill is too expensive
http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/senate/165299-white-house-says-senate-dem-jobs-bill-too-expensive?page=2#comments
The Obama administration on Tuesday night might have thrown a wrench into Senate Democratic plans to pass what they see as a jobs bill — by implying the bill spends too much money.

In a Statement of Administration Policy, the White House said it supports the broad goals of the bill.

"However, the bill would authorize spending levels higher than those requested by the president’s Budget, and the administration believes that the need for smart investments that help America win the future must be balanced with the need to control spending and reduce the deficit," the administration said.

Obama buying into and repeating repuke talking points about the deficit is not what he should be doing.

12. He's trying to get something that WILL pass the U.S. House of Representatives
If the Senate sends anything to the House that the Teabagging Filth/Republican Thugs deem too expensive, it won't pass! He's not buying into anything; he's trying to get what he can passed through BOTH chambers of the Congress. Remember, the House in particular has the "power of the purse." The Rethugs will shoot down ANY proposal from the Senate that they deem is too expensive.

13. that's just pathetic
Edited on Mon Jun-13-11 12:57 PM by johnnypneumatic
You're right, The rethugs will shoot down ANY proposal...telling other democrats to compromise and give the repukes what they want and maybe they'll be nice just won't work. All you get is more attacks, more demands for concessions and in the end you get the bill the repukes wanted...or worse.
Teabagging Filth/Republican Thugs can't be bargained with, they can't be reasoned with, they don't feel pity, or remorse, and they will exploit any hint of fear, and move the goal posts for any compromise. And they absolutely will not stop, ever, until they destroy Obama's presidency.
He can't beat them by caving in to their demands. And yes he did buy into their lies that the deficit is the most important thing to deal with. The only way to win is to fight them every inch of the way, expose them, shame them, and destroy them.
Appeasement doesn't work with fascists. Obama is being a Neville Chamberlain, when what we need is a Winston Churchill.

7. Drama.
The country is not dying. During the three months prior to President Obama taking office the country was bleeding 700,000 jobs per month. Getting job loss back to zero would have been a monumental task, but the President's team has delivered positive job growth for the last 18 months. One thing that bozos that want to paint an incorrect picture don't touch on in their OPs is that unemployment rates in May historically increase as high schoolers look for jobs. In addition, when more adults re-enter the job market as the economy improves, the unemployment rate will historically spike up. You can go back to Freeperville now, you have been outed.
