Release of Sarah Palin emails angers US conservatives
Source: The Guardian

Rightwingers accuse media of vendetta against possible Republican nominee and ask why Obama was not targeted too

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/sarah-palin-emails">Read the emails and help catalogue them

Ewen MacAskill in Juneau | Saturday June 11 2011 10.04 BST

The release of the Sarah Palin emails has provoked a backlash from grassroots conservatives accusing major US newspapers and the Guardian of engaging in a vendetta against the former Alaska governor and possible presidential candidate.

More than 24,000 emails from her time as governor were made public on Friday under freedom of information.

Conservatives bombarded newspapers, rightwing websites and other media outlets with complaints that Palin had been singled out for special treatment and that other politicians were not being subjected to the same level of scrutiny, in particular Barack Obama.

Greta Van Susteren, a Fox News journalist and one of the few members of the media trusted by Palin, labelled the treatment of Palin "a media colonoscopy" and suggested some news organisations were on "a mission to destroy".

 @ the fact they're getting this upset over the release of these heavily redacted emails and the real tooth and nail fighting for the 2012 Republican nomination hasn't even started yet.

4. Angry over Thatcher snub. Angry over Palin emails. Angry over everything.
They're always angry because they can't survive honest criticism of their dishonest ideas and agenda.

If they're ever forced to join the real world and face genuine peer and public scrutiny they'd be rendered extinct within minutes.

2. the fact is that this goes back to 2008 and it has taken 3 years to get them
released. she hasn't been singled out. she was the vp nominee in 2008. it might seem that way to these idiots, but that's because someone told them to think that.

5. All part of the "teaparty" worldview
Fearful, paranoid, with inferority and persecution complexes run amok. They love their fellow flag waving, God-using, pistol-packin' phonies. Like Ollie North, for instance....
And the phony part seems to be a strong requirement, for a whole pile of reasons that make me want to lose breakfast.

6. I don't know why these people are upset. It was a republican lady in AK politics that
called for emails. I think they use to be close friends until she realized that Palin was no better then the other governors. Palin and company tried to destroy this woman. Obama had nothing to do with this issue. I don't understand why they would put this woman in the same light as the president. She is a freaking private citizen who couldn't even finish her term as governor.

If we don’t protest against the lame stream media …

Next they will be hounding her to prove she’s a U.S citizen in spite of irrefutable proof already out there!

32. hysterically funny blinders on this BULL moose...
Repugnants demanded all emails of a college professor in hopes of proving he said something they could use against him. Since when is a half-term governor and failed vice presidential candidate not subject to the same open information rules as lowly state employees? Repugnant blinder-vision is totally amazing. Almost as stupid as their history-revisionism - Paul Revere rides again, but this time to warn the British. LOL. "Stupid is as stupid does."

29. The Word "Transparency" Is Not
In the conservative vocabulary. Maybe if they would do a little reading up on open government and transparency they wouldn't come across as such idiots all of the time. The are not for little government as they like to claim. They want an all controlling government that crushes those who would disagree, including extra-legal means. Wisconsin is a case in point.

30. "Conservatives angry...." Who gives a shit?
And why does even The Guardian frame it in such a way that we or anybody else should give a shit...like it has consequences to be reckoned with?

As was noted above, US conservatives are ALWAYS angry. Let 'em stew. It'll just cause their next moves to be that much more spontaneously and recklessly acted out...eroding their credibility even more.

Who is it who stated "If your enemy is angry, irritate him"?

39. Freakin' Palin Zombies. And conservatives think that Obama brainwashed the young voters.
There's actually a book by Jason Mattera called Obama Zombies that argues that case. I'm not kidding. And I can't believe that enough people are outraged over PalinLeaks to warrant attention in a British paper.
