Newt Gingrich's campaign team resigns en masse
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/06/09/us-usa-campaign-gingrich-idUSTRE75864A20110609?feedType=RSS&feedName=politicsNews&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Reuters%2FPoliticsNews+%28News+%2F+US+%2F+Politics+News%29

Gingrich's presidential campaign team resigned in protest on Thursday in a devastating blow to his 2012 hopes.

Rick Tyler, who resigned as Gingrich's spokesman, cited "a difference of opinion on how to move forward" as the reason why he, campaign manager Rob Johnson, senior strategist Dave Carney and leaders of Gingrich's operations in New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina and Georgia resigned.

Gingrich said in a Facebook posting that he was still in the race.

"I am committed to running the substantive, solutions-oriented campaign I set out to run earlier this spring," he said. "The campaign begins anew Sunday in Los Angeles."

The abrupt move came as Gingrich, the former speaker of the House of Representatives, faced questions about his commitment to the campaign. Shortly after launching his 2012 campaign last month, he went on a two-week vacation with his third wife, Callista.

Tyler, a long-time fixture at Gingrich's side, said there were questions about "mostly a time commitment," declining to comment further.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/canada-politics/ndp-candidate-ruth-ellen-brosseau-wins-quebec-riding-042238054.html
She took a vacation to Las Vegas during the campaign, hasn't confirmed she's even visited her riding and has questionable command of French, but the NDP's Ruth Ellen Brosseau won the Quebec riding of Berthier - Maskinongé.
<...>
During the campaign, Brosseau continued to work at the pub in Ottawa and took a vacation to Las Vegas. According to the Globe, her boss wasn't even aware she was running for office.

Stranger things have happened. The campaign was 35 days.

8. I wonder what this does to Michelle's campaign.
Or the infamous, ridiculous T-Paw?

I suspect that Palin is crisp as burnt toast, and she won't even try to run. Romney? The Bushistas are getting their knives out, as are conservative christians, and Tea Baggers. Santorum? LOL. In what universe? Huntsman? That dawg don't hunt.

15. This reminds me of the Fred Thompson campaign
He announced and went to sleep for two months.

Next time I seen him he was on TV hawking "Big Gubment," backed reverse mortgages for some shady outfit.

16. I think I know the "difference of opinion"
Gingrich believes he should move forward by continuing his quixotic run for the White House.

Gingrich's aides believe he should drop this moronic idea because the Gingrich campaign's internal polling indicates that Pol Pot, Idi Amin and Salvador Allende would beat him if they were allowed to run for president, and if you poll behind Idi Amin you're not a viable presidential candidate.

It is a bit hard to win a presidential election if you divorced your wife from her hospital bed, and eventually even the three teabaggers who are supporting him will admit that.
