Weiner: 'I’m Going to Get Back to Work'
Edited on Thu Jun-09-11 03:38 PM by cal04
http://www.rollcall.com/news/weiner-says-he-is-getting-back-to-work-206337-1.html

Scandal-ridden Rep. Anthony Weiner on Thursday said he has no plans to resign from Congress, despite mounting pressure from his Democratic colleagues to do so.

When asked by a New York Post reporter whether he would quit his Congressional career, the New York Democrat said simply, "I'm not."

"I'm going to get back to work as best I can," he added, according to the Post.

Weiner's comments were the first public remarks he has made since he gave a disastrous press conference Monday acknowledging that for three years he had explicit sexual communications online with six women. The Congressman has been married since July 2010.

1. Lol 'scandal -ridden'.
Shows where we are, at least according to the media, when a guy's personal sex life exposed by snooping far right perverts, is a scandal.

To me the scandalous behavior belongs to the virtual peeping toms peering through his virtual window and salivating for weeks over it. In RL such a person would be arrested. But as always, Breitbart gets a pass by the media. No questions about his obsessions with minorities and Liberals and his lawsuits for lying about decent people.

15. You do not understand how twitter works
obviously. He did not . His communications were DMs all along which are not seen by the 'entire internets' only by those they are directed to. He did do what often happens on twitter, mistakenly posted that last photo by hitting the wrong button, , but immediately deleted it so only one person, ONE PERSON on the entire internets because it was deleted so fast, only a snooper obsessed with his twitter acct, saw it.

A snooper working for the far right anti-democratic machine fronted by Andrew Breitbart, and who had for months, been snooping around the congressman. Involved also was Darly Issa's office. I think you need to learn more about this withch hunt of democrats because they have other Progressive Dems on their perverted list right now. And they won't stop until every last progressive democrat is destroyed.

They are also focused on Sen. Sanders, Al Franken and several others. And, since all it takes to get rid of a Dem, like Van Jones eg, is for that person to be targeted by Breitbart and his thugs, so far they are succeeding very nicely with virtually no push-back from Democrats, only capitulation.

This is NOT just about Weiner, It is a war on Democrats and the rules of war, which they started, as far as I am concerned do not include handing them victory after victory. The way I would like to see this war fought is by causing them not only to fail, but exposing who is funding them. We know a little about that, but nowhere near enough. We do know that they may be violating tax laws eg, but Democrats are busy going after their own, instead of after them.

They otoh, remain focused on their goal, which is to 'eliminate the evil of liberalism' from the political landscape and we are helping them. And yes, they snoop, they pry, they lie, they do whatever it takes to accomplish that goal.

35. Give it time. Dead man walking. In the unlikely event he does hang
on, his seat almost surely will be eliminated by NY officials. He leaves regardless.

6. I was snooping on ESPN earlier today.
Later I need to snoop on eBay for a little while, then I want to snoop on some software sites. I think I should also go snoop
on the Southwest site, because I need to plan a trip.

4. I'm so happy to hear this good news.
I'd rather have a sex-texter than someone who takes a lot of money to do the lobbyists' bidding.

Weiner needs to work on his problem, but he should not leave Congress.

It is time to draw the line between fantasy and reality.

Weiner is strong on reality. If he can just forget about expressing his fantasies to strangers, he will be absolutely perfect.

23. Or, my favorite quote... "put your pants on and go home".
From the Senate Ethics Committee report, about John Ensign.

Good advice. Words to live by.

22. Don't quit working. Do not propagate the double standard one minute more.
Wiener you did some weird stuff but it doesn't mean you aren't capable of working your balls off for the American people. It's gonna be hard but your biggest hurdle is at home with your wife I fear. As far as I am concerned you should get back to work and keep your mind off of your business! : )
