The Romney-Bachman ticket?
Last time around, it was John McCain's time to run for the Presidency. Just like it was Bob Dole's turn in 1996. That's the way the Republicans run their Party.

In the last election, Mitt Romney stepped aside and let McCain have his turn. This time around, it is Romney's turn. But why Bachman?

It wouldn't have to be Bachman. It could be Trump or Palin or Cain. He will just have to pick someone that the Tea Party will support and vote for. At the present time, Michelle Bachman looks like the most likely choice. Republicans will have to suck up to the Tea Partiers big time if they want to win the White House.

Has anyone noticed the commericials for Mormons that are running on several networks? One shows a black man who is a Mormon. One shows a man of Indian or Pakistani descent. He also is a Mormon. There seems to be a slow and deliberate attempt to propagandize the people about the Mormon religion. Anyone else seen those commercials?

In my opinion, this is a set-up for Mitt Romney so he will have a legitimate shot at the White House. I don't know who is paying for the ads but it does raise the antennae just a bit...Or maybe I am just too cynical and tin-hattish?

6. I'm sure people were saying the same thing about McCain in 2007
Assuming they even knew who Palin was at the time...

3. The Mormons have been running those spots for years
though the multiracial angle is new. As recently as the '70s, one of their higher-ups was raked over the coals for referring to African Americans as "descendants of Cain"; Utah was the only Western state that went by Jim Crow.

5. Romney is seen as a RINO by teh TeaParty
He is there last choice becauce of Romnay Care, his previous pro-choice position. Bachmann is the choice of the Tea-Party. I cannot see them on the same ticket but politics do create strage bedfellows.

10. The LDS is certainly trying to push Romney hard, and gain acceptance for themselves.
Of course they underestimate how grossly xenophobic the Republican base is.

14. A basic truth: religiously conservative evangelicals will not vote for a Mormon.
Take it to the bank. And the Romney will need all of those votes that he can get

21. True, their religious zealotry is very very strong.
Stronger than their racism I suspect.

They won't vote for Obama, but they can't vote for a "false Christian" either. The former would be painfully politically, the latter would (in their minds) be a train ticket directly to an eternity in a lake of fire.

18. It's definitely possible.
In my opinion, it is not only due to Willard Romney's need to "expand" his base of support, but because even most republicans find him extremely obnoxious. Think back to the 2008 debates, and the rest room business, where the others were mocking him. Few others would want to be associated with him, much less taking orders from the guy.

Bachman is power hungry. She is also suffering from religious delusional ideation. She believes that "God" wants her to advance to a high position of power.

20. Romney is boooring, but not STUUUPID. He will pick mainstream Southerner, Governor, like himself

That is the problem with Romney. If a smart Dem would not do it, Romney will not do it. Remember how he operated in MASS. Very business-like strategic operator. He is not going to do a "Maverick" thing like McCain with Palin. He will pick someone like Jeb Bush who can nail a key State and comfort the Evangelicals concerned with his Mormonism.
