I want to see Weiner fight, don't want him to resign
he's been a wonderful Congressman, the only real fighter we have.

But I want him to get the help he needs, he obviously has a compulsion.

Once he comes through this on the other end he will be stronger for it.

1. that's such a crock of dog shit. he is not the only real fighter we have.
he's not even a fighter. it's become clear that he's a fucking paper tiger. and all he's been doing is cravenly groveling for the last 3 days.. the predictable denouement is that he'll resign.

9. Wow. Wipe that froth off your mouth
Such vitriol. It's strange to see a true fighter for progressive values go from hero to zero in a matter of 2 days.

Or maybe it isn't so strange.

11. I'm so tired of the stupid "he/she is the only real liberal/progressive/whatever
we have. It just demonstrates woeful ignorance. My rep is far better than Weiner, more liberal and not a total Israel right or wrong type like Weiner. I can think of at least a dozen reps who are better than Weiner.

And sorry, I'm not frothing at the mouth, honeypie.

Today he came out and said once again that he's not going to resign. :-)

3. I think he is an example of a fighter. We need more like him. I hope he stays in congress.
The gop is playing this great for themselves by letting the democrats hang him.

4. Wouldn't it be awesome if
he made a statement that reaffirmed that he would not resign but...when Vitter and ANY other sitting politician who made a similar, even more egregious mistake resigned from whatever public position he held, he'd reconsider. I agree that he's a fighter. He's consistently fought for us, now he has to fight for himself. I support him.

5. So, tweeps use #FightBackTony.
It's worth a shot.

As far as help goes, I can't think of a single leader in social justice who was or is perfect person. They're all people. They have flaws just like we do.

6. You are right. It's not a crock as others have said.
He is a real fighter. His voting record in Congress for the last thirteen years speaks for him, and as Rachel pointed out tonight, David Vitter is not getting the same treatment from his party that Weiner is getting from ours.

He does need to go into counseling to get through this.

10. counseling is a crock of shit. What? You don't see the world, or for that matter, the Universe
to be the way it's portreyed on T.V.? Somebody can talk you into thinking that your desires, your proclivities are somehow not "normal"? What a bunch of bullshit! If you have spent any time trying to understand how your instinctual behavior fits into what is promoted as "normal" behavior by the corporate media? There is no normal! There is no Average! In the overall scheme of the universe, you are insugnificiant!! In the vastness of the universe, you don't count! Do, you are telling this guy, who has a proclivity to tweet his dick to others that he needs counseling? To what end? That he might refrain from this nonsense for the greater good of a bullshit society? It's a primal urge. He can't controll it any more than Larry Craig can stop tapping his foot in a public restroom. In the overall scheme of things, it means nothing! Really, it's time to look at the bigger picture. I think Randi said it best. We all have those hidden desires. We all, secretly, look for that stuff. Normal "IS" being a little confused sexually. In a society that sells you almost everything useing sex, and then denies that you actually have sex, you are bound to get a little confused.

We as a society are motivated by sex. It's why we watch 2 !/2 men. it's why we spend so much time with Desperate howswives. We are programmed to respond to this crap. When we finally figure that out, maybe we can break the chain but I don't hold out much hope.

Oh well, probably another useless rant.

Bud
