Prescription for healthcare shopping: Take two aspirins and call me in the morning
Jim Abraham thought he had gotten a great deal at Jackson Memorial Hospital when he was told that a nuclear stress test would cost $1,200. Then he got the bill: $5,500. Why so much more? The staff told him it was because he had insurance.

2. A friend of mine
just yesterday filled a prescription for a generic muscle relaxer. The cost for 60 pills was $1,300! He paid $75. But $1,300! For a generic muscle relaxer!
