10. Yeah, the thing that "gets" me is that when you hear people talking about....

...things never changing, the same crooks getting away with the same great crimes...it's times like this when I feel that frustration, when I know what they mean and, like a psychic too late to stop a horrible accident they'd forseen, just...I just stand there in the middle of the carnage and almost believe in fate.

You can't explain this to kids. I know I wouldn't have believed it when I was in my 20's. You have to get punched around a few times by it before you really start to understand: There is a game on. Whether one giant gloved hand controls it all from the shadows, a dozen hands, a million or no hands at all, we exist in a world of terrible things and circumstances, but there is a profile to such things.

And though I do not know the forces which shape things, I sometimes think I see the profile as one would see the profile of the invisible man as he walked through a puff of cavendish pipe smoke.

This is one little thing but being a news hound I see these these sorts of things enough to wonder...
