If so, what was the question? Was it relevant to what was being discussed or did the "gotcha" media just shout out questions at random?

She's an idiot and if she didn't know, that was not the shout out questions she should have answered. I'm just curious how the "conversation" came to that.

3. It was the ice cream store where Paul Revere stopped to get a cone
on his way to warn the British.

Don't you remember reading that in American History?

5. Found no mention of an ice cream store in this article

By Peter Grier, Staff writer / June 3, 2011
Sarah Palin’s “One Nation” bus tour is traveling up through New England, and if you didn’t hear, the ex-Alaska governor had a bit of a moment when she stopped at Paul Revere’s’s House in Boston on Thursday.

Asked to expound on the importance of Revere’s famous ride to rouse the countryside from Boston to Lexington and Concord on the night of April 18, 1775, Ms. Palin mangled history a bit.

9. Might have been - I am on dial-up (no you tube) and we don't have
teevee in our house. I miss a lot, but I don't really miss it (if that makes sense at all)

10. She went to the Paul Revere house ..... it evens has
the true story of Paul Revere at the house and at their website.

In 1774 and the Spring of 1775 Paul Revere was employed by the Boston Committee of Correspondence and the Massachusetts Committee of Safety as an express rider to carry news, messages, and copies of resolutions as far away as New York and Philadelphia.

On the evening of April 18, 1775, Paul Revere was sent for by Dr. Joseph Warren and instructed to ride to Lexington, Massachusetts, to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that British troops were marching to arrest them.

http://www.paulreverehouse.org/ride/real.html

She didn't even read the stuff at his house.

17. This is true. Let us not forget how angry she was with the "what do you read?" question
She has a degree in journalism and couldn't name a single newspaper on the spot.

13. She was trying to be cute
She couldn't say "I don't fucking remember, if I ever even knew what Paul Revere did, or even stood for" So she made something up close to what she did remember, and so then could use the words "Guns" and "Freedom" in a sentence. "Bells" was pretty random.

My problem with it is as she's considered a major political figure getting lots of media attention, you would think she'd a least use google, or Wiki--I'm sure she has an smartphone-- when visiting 'historic places' so she could answer coherently. Maybe she's too busy playing angry birds or something

She not necessarily more of a dumbass than a lot of people on this topic, but she's an complete and total asshole for sure.

14. its her lack of curiosity showing
I'm perhaps the other way in the extreme but when we went on "expensive" vacations (other than camping) when our son was young, I read up for months before we went. I thought that's what everyone did. When we did the US history stuff, I not only knew most of it before we left but I bought the books while there and read everything at each site. Maybe that's because I didn't have an adoring press to entertain me, had to do it myself. Turned my son into a reader as he became curious too.

One of my gripes about today's religion is it does not reward curiosity, as apparently does not. (Her kids are just like her, from what I've seen. Would rather be insulting the press than learning about Paul Revere.

Now she will not stop until she has reinvented history to match her story. Yeah, finally herstory! As a woman I am so humiliated.

15. I know
Since she's not going away-tragically- I try to analyze a little bit, I agree--a complete lack of curiosity that could very well be religion driven. I'm agnostic, but even so, these God-in-a-box people insult their whole idea of a creator Deity by this stupid on purpose crap.
And it is humiliating.

19. a 'shout out gotcha kinda question, i know my american history'
That's what she told Chris Wallace.

Apparently, "Do you plan to visit _______?" is now a "gotcha kinda" question.
