I can't remember the name of this historic figure.
With all the re-writing of American history by Palin, I realize that I can't remember the name of a colonialist who was involved with defending Massachusetts. It wasn't Paul Revere. This guy had a very bad injury when molten metal covered his hand.

This is really bothering me. Anyone else know whom I talking about? I learned about him in Fifth Grade and never heard anything about him after then.

"At each town along the way, church bells were rung and muskets fired to spread the word; when he reached Philadelphia, the pealing of the Liberty Bell caused a crowd of 8,000 to assemble to hear the news."

Bur now that I read that, what did Palin say about bells? The bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells.

In the words of Doonesbury "heads up! It's bad art!!" http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/medny/venturi-poebells.html

8. I loved that book.
When I was older, I found "Paul Revere and the World he Lived In." That was an adult biography/history. She won the Pulitzer for that. She was quite a great lady.
