1. Go to hell?
Is that directed at Andrew Gold for some reason?

8. I thought that at first too....(and was equally dismayed)...
Maybe Pat could insert something-- a line, row of asterisks or the like-- just to make it clear that the "Go To Hell" card is not part of the body of the post.

5. 59?
So young. And I didn't know his mother was Marni Nixon, a name I know well. Go with the goddess, dear minstrel.

6. Sad. Had no idea he was from such a musically talented family.
Much too young.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Gold.

7. He didn't get the credit he deserved for that great 70's guitar sound
I was so sorry to hear this he was a really nice person, had the chance to get to know him about 10 years ago. He told me as a teenager who had parents with show biz connections he was lucky enough to see the Beatles play Hollywood Bowl and meet them backstage - and it was only about 10 years later he was onstage with Linda Ronstadt and really pioneering a lot of the hooky 70's style guitar breaks, so many people borrowed from him. I think the group Bryndle was some of his finest work, one of those bands you just can't figure out why it didn't take off!!
