Governor Palin Gives the Media a History Lesson on Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride
From the you gotta be fucking kidding me department, the following:

The mark of any successful political venture by Governor Palin often results a misrepresentation of her words that only leaves the media with egg on their faces. Governor Palin’s bus tour has been successful in allowing her to highlight the greatness of the history of America, meet everyday Americans and fellow politicians, and share her policy stances on everything from fishing regulations in New Hampshire to ethanol subsidies to the debt ceiling. Such successes leaves the media grasping at proverbial bendy straws. Today’s news is no different. Poised with the opportunity to more appropriately address political stories essentially pre-written for them, such as abysmal jobs numbers under the Obama administration or the newest report that the federal government lends financial aid to the very same countries from whom they borrow , the media have chosen to focus more on their own historical ignorance by creating a story out of a non-story and misportraying Governor Palin’s comments on Paul Revere yesterday:

“He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms uh by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed.”

“He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms uh by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed.”

1. I wish they'd stop calling her "Governor"
She walked off that job halfway through. She's not a governor.

That is all.

8. Just out of curiosity...
Howard Dean served for 12 years as one of Vermont's most distinguished governors, a full decade more than the half-wit mentioned above. I don't really remember/pay attention during the 2004 election campaigns how he was referred to by the media. Was he called Governor throughout or was he labeled ex-governor or former governor Dean?

10. Did some research of my own...
Google search -
with all of the words - Howard Dean
News articles
January 1, 2004 - December 31, 2004
About 21,500 results

Google search -
with all of the words - Howard Dean
with the exact phrase - Former Governor
News articles
January 1, 2004 - December 31, 2004
About 1,540 results

Only about 7% or so of the articles mention him being Former Governor...

Not exactly scientific, but appears to suggest that the MSM wasn't harder on Dean.

I'm tempted to bow down to my OCD and scan the instances in the first set of results and tick them off, but I think I need to quiet that little nagging voice with a couple beers!

5. That's Governor (ret. prematurely)
She can't call herself Governor anymore. She failed.

And she continues to fail.
