KC Diocese sued for cover-up in recent Priest child porn case
Also, bishop Robert Finn sued for possessing child porn because after they found it on the Priests computer they waited 5 months to notify authorities, so during that time it was in his possession. This story is getting bigger. Hope it leads to some real change.

Lawsuit Hints At Cover-Up In Priest's Case
Shawn Ratigan Jailed On Charges Of Possessing Child Pornography
POSTED: 5:31 pm CDT June 2, 2011

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A federal lawsuit filed on behalf of a young girl accuses a Kansas City priest of taking pornographic pictures of her and claims the Roman Catholic diocese tried to cover the matter up.

The priest, 45-year-old Shawn Ratigan, is jailed in Clay County on $200,000 bond on three counts of possessing child pornography. He has pleaded not guilty.

The lawsuit filed Thursday in federal court in Kansas City accuses Ratigan of possessing and producing pornographic photos of the girl. It also alleges that Bishop Robert Finn possessed child porn because the diocese kept images found on Ratigan's laptop computer in December until giving it over to police late last month.

1. This is just a disgrace
The principal of the school A YEAR AGO reported this priest to the bishop. Not to child protection services. Then in December a computer tech found pictures on his computer and told the bishop. Again, no official notification to legal authorities.

Everyone involved belongs in jail, IMO.
