Confusion on day 2 of Palin bus tour
Source: Politico

CNN reported Monday that some of Palin’s supporters had already started to gather midday at Gettysburg in hopes that she might be on her way. But by then, Palin’s bus was rolling into Mount Vernon instead.

Indeed, Twitter is about the only way to follow the former Alaska governor — unless you’re Fox News host Greta Van Susteren or her husband, John Coale.

Van Susteren is traveling with Palin on Monday and is to conduct an interview inside the One Nation tour bus. Coale, who set up Palin’s political action committee in 2009 and serves as an informal adviser, was spotted with the Palin family at Mount Vernon.

My question is: exactly how many miles did Sarah Palin ride on a motorcycle to get to the Rolling Thunder gathering in DC? One or two?

As we all know...

"A REAL biker rides his Harley to Sturgis. A fake biker hauls it to Sturgis."

1. At the most she rode on the back of a motorcycle for 8 minutes
1.2 miles from the Pentagon to Lincoln Memorial which is near the Vietnam Memorial where the ride concluded.

A whole 8 minutes and she thinks she is a biker.

a seasonal holiday in front of a worker with a machine like a wood chipper that removes the heads, and assists in the bleeding out, from 3-4 turkeys while SP repeated her assigned talking-points, with the turkey-killer visible in the right of the shot.

24. Not I. I think the cause of democracy is best served when two or more
competing visions of the future do battle with one another (a sort of thesis meets antithesis). Palin's inability to articulate ideas in the form of simple, clear declarative sentences renders that project impossible. Beats me if I can tell you what Palin stands for, other than a vaguely articulated sense of resentment and a lively persecution complex.

However, there is the comic value to take into consideration - it will make next year's SNL really awesome :)

29. I would agree with you on the "two competing visions" but all the OTHER
Republicans offer nothing of value to American, no real vision, just more fear and panic over rich people being forced to pay taxes... that's not a vision, that's a slightly more coherent view that Sarah Palin, who is only in politics, (to whatever extent she is IN politic), to make a fortune, no matter what comes out of her mouth.

About as many miles as she road her tour bus on the promo tour for her book, "Going Rogue". On that tour, she'd be picked up at the airport, and would ride the tour bus to her next book-signing appearance.

I imagine this "bus tour" is likely to be run the same way.

One of the many articles I read on Politico says that they left from the Pentagon parking lot. The rally was at 22nd and Constitution. Roughly 4 miles.

BTW- Willow was the driver of the bike. Willow is maturing well IMHO.

16. And yet, the REALLY significant part of this article...
...will remain completely overlooked in our rush to find fake outrage:

"...unless you’re Fox News host Greta Van Susteren or her husband, John Coale.

Van Susteren is traveling with Palin on Monday and is to conduct an interview inside the One Nation tour bus. Coale, who set up Palin’s political action committee in 2009 and serves as an informal adviser, was spotted with the Palin family at Mount Vernon."

What we have here is a political operative who is an adviser for a "candidate," who also happens to be on the payroll of the network where the political operative's wife is a "reporter," who will interview the fake candidate for the network where they are both employed.

And we're worried about fucking motorcycles? Suckers...

20. The Republican Party, a Faux News Production
They'll make Sarah Palin President if they can. This "tour", and the glowing reportage that will accompany it,
will be a pretext for a "rebound" in Palin's polling numbers, and for her to claim that "the people" want her to run.
They also need footage of Palin being cheered at something that doesn't look so much like a Klan rally.

That is why her actual supporters are being kept in the dark. They are too scary and need to be kept away.
By keeping the actual locations secret even from their own supporters, they can staff the "rallies" with
actors, Faux employees, and party hacks to produce a more salable product.

The talk about motorcycles is the sort of 'whistling past the graveyard' that we do when we have no way of addressing the real problem.

at least they're both in the same state, aren't they Sarah? }(

Hey, if her gal-pal Michele Bachmann (R - Batshit Crazy) can move both Lexington *and* Concord from Massachusetts to New Hanpshire, she can mistake Mount Vernon for Gettysburg.

31. Sarah keeps shrieking she's "there for the vets, who protect our freedom." This isn't Veterans Day.
Edited on Mon May-30-11 04:31 PM by gauguin57
All props to the veterans, but Memorial Day commemorates -- through ceremony and grave decoration -- U.S. Service members who have died while in military service (war, etc.).

There was just a nationwide survey that showed a lot of people don't know the difference between the two holidays.

I guess Sister Sarah is one of them.

http://www.va.gov/opa/vetsday/vetday_faq.asp

Q. What is the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day?

A. Many people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. While those who died are also remembered, Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served - not only those who died - have sacrificed and done their duty.

She was just hauled around behind the actual rider, like any other sack of potatoes (or crap) that you might strap on to haul from point A to point B.
