Guy with gun crashes party attended by mixed martial arts expert
Crasher picks wrong party

Gregory Anthony McFarland Jr. picked the wrong party to crash. It's likely to be a while before he crashes another one.

McFarland's troubles stemmed from March 25, 2009, when he and a friend saw a group of people hanging out in the garage of a home in Daly City where a party was in progress and decided to join them.

One of the partygoers tried to get him to leave, but McFarland, who was "extremely intoxicated," pulled out a loaded .380 semiautomatic handgun, pointed it at the partygoer and yelled, "I'll kill you, I'll shoot you," according to San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

Problem was, the partygoer was a mixed martial arts expert who "promptly executed a flawless wrist lock, nearly breaking the suspect's wrist," Wagstaffe said.

1. It's a pity the guy held back and didn't break the wrist.
That would have been a more effective object lesson, I'd think.

2. Hmmm... wonder which lock. Oh yeah... and 'what a moron'.

Should've broken the wrist and then choked him out. Would have been appropriate to render him harmless.

5. It's never a bad idea to take martial arts
The ability to make the right move at the right time can save your life - and it most certainly discourages others from trying it.

6. I know the guy was wasted and wasn't thinking
but why pull a gun at a party you want to stay at? Did he really think that if he shot the guy the party would just go on?
