DOMINIONIST DECODER: What Sarah Palin REALLY Means by “ FIRE In HER BELLY ”

:smoke: :smoke:

" I’ve been saying for a while now that the mainstream media doesn’t “get” Sarah Palin. Last week, when the astute Lawrence O’Donnell equated her with Trump, I understood his reasoning, but disagreed with the premise. Sarah Palin isn’t Donald Trump, and when she speaks of a “fire in her belly” she’s not using that term politically, but religiously. She means she has a fire of God in her belly to lead the country to Jesus. She means she is anointed to lead us.She has a fire in her belly alright, but it’s not the fire of politics as the pundits know it.

Leah Burton, of “God’s Own Party” made the following Fire in the Belly video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=jDu5fMm2CCQ

And it’s not just Sarah Palin. As Leah explains, “She is joined by many who share her biblical “call to service in the name of Jesus Christ” such as Tim Pawlenty, Mitch Daniels, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Michelle Bachmann, and a whole host of frightening – albeit not as recognizable – theocratic politicians who are aggressively working to re-write our Constitution and anchor it in Old Testament Mosaic Law.”

The Dominionist politicians might use words that remind you of your own church, or your friends’ churches, but these are not mainline Christians. They seek Dominion over the government, and indeed over what they term the “seven mountains” of culture. Their goal is to return it to the earth to Jesus, and the US to biblical law.

In an earlier article, Ms Burton posted a letter dating from the 2008 campaign from Dr. Marlene Winel, who specializes in dealing with folks who have “walked away” and are recovering from fundamentalist sects of Christianity, who wrote: " You really must read the entire letter, it will send chills up your spine."

it's never been subject to it.

11. I wonder at times what Robert Heinlein would make of today's GOP
All of his libertarian dreams and all of his childhood Bible belt nightmares in one inseparable package. Makes me almost sorry he's not still around just to see which way he'd squirm.

30. I've thought for a while we need to start bringing in biblical things in our campaigns
I do think you're right - using terms like "fire in the belly" for our beliefs wouldn't work. What I think would work is to point out that their side has been Misled, and is following The Deceiver. Let em chew on that for a while.

32. Dog-whistle to their sleeper cells.
I say call them what they are. These people are holding our country hostage with their "Party of NO!" and are the REAL terrorists within our own borders. It it truly frightening to see how blindly deluded, yet organized they are.

15. Hokey but not unheard of.
I've heard it in other contexts.

Oddly, none with a Dominionist, or even a Reconstructionist, bent. Which is strange--I mean, somebody who sees Dominionists under every rock manages to break a code that I seriously doubt Dominionists even know exists, imputing to everyday expressions secret meanings and hidden agendas.

Of course, it helps that all these secret meanings and hidden agendas serves to justify his claims rather neatly.

"Aha, Citizen Rabinovich, you *say* you meant you wanted to buy a chicken when you asked the clerk how much the chicken costs, but we all know you were actually criticizing the government and calling for armed revolution against the people's will!"

"Bu-bu-but it was Friday and my wife asked me to get her a chicken!"

"So you admit that you're a member of a deviant minority and that your wife is the ringleader of this subversive cell working on behalf of a foreign power!"

"No!"

"Your denial is what we expect a guilty person to say--thus establishing your guilt beyond a doubt. We are a constitutional populat democracy, Citizen, so you will have a fair trial--before the judge pronounces the guilty verdict!"

I could imagine this in Voinovich's Chonkin.

who just want to worship in peace. How dare anyone who has looked into their beliefs and goals accuse them of holding to what the Dominionists themselves say their goals are.

12. Sarah Palin should take George Carlin's advice to anti-abortion protesters...
"You know, morally committed people in South Vietnam knew how to stage a god-damned demonstration, didn't they? They knew how to put on a fuckin' protest. LIGHT YOURSELF ON FIRE! Come on, you moral crusaders, let's see a little smoke to match that fire in your belly. "

and what they really want for the US and how far they've come in getting what they want, the more these people freak me the hell out.

Banning birth control, public schools, and women in the workplace? It CAN happen here.

25. Some seem blinded to all these evolving changes. Such ideas are nothing
more than conspiracy theories ( so they keep reminding us ) yet, changes keep coming one brick at a time.

Death by a thousand cuts.

17. Beware of the Reconstructionists- or Theonomists
The guy I know says he is not a Reconstructionist; he just holds Reconstructionist views. Huh?? (As in, "I'm not a racist; I just old racist views.") Let us not be at all naive about the Reconstructionists. They are divisive, judgemental and absolutely legalistic. They await the day, and work toward the day, when Old Testament Law reigns as the law of the land here in the U.S. We can say that they are crack pots all we want. And they are. But, they are also meeting together, using code words (try patriot pastor), cheating the IRS, speaking against the Federal Reserve. In fact, the BIG, FAT chilling thing is that Ron Paul is one of them, hates the Federal Reserve, thinks that it is against the will of God, and now chairs the committee that oversees the Federal Reserve. If you have ever been in a building that was infested by roaches, then you know what these guys are like. You turn off the lights for a minute, and they are crawling up the pipes in your sink. I think this is one of the most important issues for us to be aware of because they are sneaky liars and dangerous hypocrites. They morph from "Reformed" Christians to Theonomists in the blink of an eye. They read and quote, theologists of old, but also glean "wisdom" from Gary North and Greg Bahnsen. Try asking some of these guys what they think of Greg Bahnsen. Nobody in the world even knows the name Greg Bahnsen except the Reconstructionists. So, if they have an opinion on Bahnsen, then they are probably a Reconstructionist. Brrrrr... they give me the creeps.

Thumbs way down.

Edited on Mon May-30-11 06:11 AM by Fly by night
And unlike the smelly effluent that comes out of her pie hole, I hope she hoards that other gas until she explodes.

Fire in her belly? What this country really needs is "fire in the hole", sufficient to be seen from Russia.

Now those fireworks would be a fitting and proper way to celebrate Memorial Day.

23. It gets ffar worse .... check this out.
She campaigned for Pat Buchanan's presidential bid in the 90's

Buchanan's vice presidential running mate on the Reform ticket was Larry Pratt. Larry is a "Christian Identity" preacher (google that one because you REALLY don't know what that is until you research it)

Larry preached sermons at Waco during the siege to hundreds. Tim McViegh was photographed in the front row.

Pat Buchanan called sara palin "one of us" during the 2008 presidential campaign. He called Mr. Obama "one of them" in the same opinion piece.

31. When I watch that clip I am stunned that anyone thinks she is intelligent.
She might be smart -- as in smart enough to get people to pay her for whatever the hell it is she does -- but "intelligence" never enters into the picture. Intelligent people don't speak the way she does. She is as stupid as they come.

33. I agree, she is smart as a fox. Should she decide to run for the republican nomination
or decide to run as an independent, her marginal support is enough to guarantee a republican loss either way. Any requests or calls for her to drop out ( for the good of the party ) would provide her with a pretty huge bargaining chip ' a la Ross Perot '.

Cha-Ching!!!
