Death associated with end of world prophecy?

Drowning victim insisted God was across reservoir

Investigators say a Florida man who drowned in a Northern California reservoir insisted that God was on the other side and tried twice to get across even though he could not swim.

The body of 25-year-old Victor Frasno was pulled from the 80-acre reservoir in Antioch's Contra Loma Regional Park on Friday night.

-----------------------

Detective Holly Sontag tells the Contra Costa Times Frasno was last seen quoting the Bible and flailing in the water.

She says his behavior may be connected to a California preacher's prediction that the world would end on Saturday.

1. "...was last seen quoting the Bible and flailing in the water."

2. Just add it to the multitude of reasons why Family Radio should lose its operating licenses.

4. Words do have power and consequences
If they didn't, there would be no such thing as an ad agency or a PR firm.

3. Not really a victim - he did it to himself.....
Just a prime candidate for a Darwin Award, and one less religious nut for the rest of us to steer clear of.

5. Mental illness
is a terrible thing. God often figures prominently in the delusions of the mentally ill.

7. Any way they can pin this on the douche bag making the predictions?

8. may be connected...what I suspect IS connected is some mental illness...
I'm not sure I see the connection to camping's end of the world prediction. Did he say God would be in Antioch, just across the reservoir?
Did no one assist him while he was flailing and quoting?

This is some incompleteness to this story.
