Morning Joe Didn't Get Suspended For Saying "Fuck" On M$NBC...
I'm not a big Ed Shultz fan, but suspending him for calling someone a media slut on the radio after ignoring Scarborough's on air gaffe seems wrong to me.

15. He Was Attributing A Quote To Rahm Emanuel Saying "Fuck You" (YouTube link)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SJUwn6eSNo

"Fuck you" would seem more offensive to me than just saying "Fuck" to describe the act.

4. Huge difference: on-air gaffe (fuck) and calling a person a slut.
Not comparable.

8. "Fuck" and "slut" distinguished:
1. While both are profanities, the former term wasn't personally directed and the latter term was.

2. The former is generalized and the latter accuses only women of "excessive" behavior that is defined by moralists in society.

3. The latter is used to condemn the female who speaks out instead of challenging the substance of her argument.

4. The former is nonsexist and the latter is sexist. No equivalent of a "male" slut.

10. Fuck and slut are inextricably linked
One can't exist without the other.

A male slut is a cocks-man. But since it's a term denoting a sexually promiscuous male it's considered a compliment, not an insult.

11. NPR fired Juan Williams for saying that muslim's in airports made him nervous -
- as it was considered a racist slur. Calling a specific individual a "slut" is a sexist slur. There's your comparison.

13. The word "fuck" is allowed at DU. But if you call another DUer a "slut" you will likely be banned.
This policy seems right to me, but I guess it looks wrong to you.
