Meltdowns confirmed at two more Fukushima reactors
Nakano said that by confirming the meltdowns now, Tepco may be hoping the news will have less impact. The word "meltdown" has such a strong connotation that when the situation was more uncertain more people would likely have fled Tokyo, he said.

Why does this statement not inspire me with a whole lot of confidence?

And does any one know what the spike in readings near the reactors the past few days means?

1. Japan is in a world of hurt
The question everyone should be asking is when will the Japanese government admit that a good portion of their control may become unhabitable?

4. Exactly
I don't think they can hide this too long before they are forced to address the severity of the situation.

6. They ARE Adressing the Situation
This is the reason behind the sudden push to get rid of Medicare and Medicaid, and to repeal HCR.

How much does it cost to treat ONE cancer patient until they die?

Multiply that by a few million.

They don't want to pay. They also don't want the great unwashed clogging up "their" hospitals.
