Republicans 'will lose next election unless they deliver'
Republicans will lose the next election to President Barack Obama unless they deliver on the made promises to voters to cut spending and create jobs, according to a rising star of the party.

...

One of dozens of new members backed by the Tea Party movement, Col West is convinced that his party's recent triumph will have no bearing on the 2012 presidential race if Republicans do not meet their commitment to rein in government and put the country on a path towards a balanced budget.

"If we don't get it right in this year it doesn't matter. You can run Superman for president and still lose. What we do here in the House as Republicans will set the stage for someone to be successful in 2012," Col West told the Daily Telegraph.

2. Ha!
I think they are there now to dismantle what is left. This is just the final wave of corporate rule rolling over the land of the deadbeat rich and the home of the serfs.

They will deliver alright; only not what they pretended to offer.

3. And by "deliver" they mean: shut down the govt, exasperate economic hardship,
humiliate Obama and America, and kill a few thousand more people around the world.

5. I predict they will go the other way
spending will increase because they will be giving money to their coropate friends and because of the rich's shiny new tax cuts. They won't create any jobs, and the biggest one of all they won't be able to touch the health care bill. EPIC FAIL!

7. All The Good Guys Need Is Voter Turnout...
If more of the people who voted for President Obama in 2008 turn out to vote in 2012 than did in 2010, I expect we'll do rather well.

Unfortunately, I think there is an all-too-large pool of non-voters, novelty voters, and part-time voters that could do as poorly for down-ballot Democratic candidates as it did in 2010. We Democrats need to find a way to communicate to the novelty voters and the part-time voters that those congressional, senatorial, and state government races also count.

Yeah, I think President Obama is tall, black, and cool. (Those weren't the main reasons I voted and campaigned for him, but they sure helped). But those not-so-glamorous white, brown, and black guys, and those occasionally-frumpy looking female candidates are also worthy of being voted for.

8. They will probably lose the presidency, BUT
Edited on Wed Jan-05-11 09:44 AM by SoCalDem
we have a LOT more to lose in '12 and '14 than THEY do.. in the senate.

Contrarians will dust off all their wedge issues, and do EVERYTHING in their power to make sure that even if Obama win re-election, they will have BOTH houses of congress and then they can ruin ANY success he may have had.

I don't see more than two "red" seats going "blue"...but I sure see a LOT of blues that are in danger:scared:

9. there plan was to have the Dems deliver
and then live off the last congress as their policies have an effect, while they do nothing and ebb a little at the financial reforms already enacted. Too bad for them the last congress might now have done enough given the circumstances.

11. I was momentarily shocked to read that
Then I clicked on the link to find out that this was being reported over in some foreign country, and all was once again right with the world. It was alarming to think that a U.S. news outlet would dare say such a thing, and I nearly despaired for our republic. Whew!
