Look at the employment numbers and lifetime earnings for those with a degree versus those without. Yes college is getting expensive. But for the overwhelming number of people the expense pays off. Yes lots of people go to schools they can't afford, but even there, the expense pays off in the large majority of cases.

there is no proof that having a college degree earns you any more money than if you hadn't gotten one.

the idea that it does was cooked up in the 70s to boost falling college enrollment; and the lie has been repeated ever since.

5. Way to miss the point of the cartoon,

It isn't about the expense, or lifetime payoff for attending college, but rather the fact that the job market still sucks now. You know, nine percent unemployment and all that.
