by his behavior during the Viet Nam war. They asked him not to keep mentioning that he was a Quaker, given his continuation of that war.

I also know the United Church of Canada (the biggest Protestant denomination in Canada) supports same-sex marriage. I, in fact, have a lovely openly queer friend who is studying to be a United Church minister, and I know she'll do an excellent job. :)
