Gov. Christie's proposed income limits would cut Medicaid for working poor
For anyone who is even tempted to believe the utter bullshit that Chris Christie is any different from the rest of the GOP oligarch lackeys, consider Christie's latest proposal to foist the economic calamity caused by his oligarch masters on the backs of the poor:

Gov. Christie's proposed income limits would cut Medicaid for working poor

Published: Thursday, May 19, 2011, 6:15 AM Updated: Thursday, May 19, 2011, 7:44 AM
By Susan K. Livio/Statehouse Bureau

TRENTON — Adults in a family of three that makes as little as $103 a week would earn too much to qualify for health care provided by Medicaid under a sharply curtailed program Gov. Chris Christie wants the federal government to approve this year, according to state officials and advocates briefed on the proposal.

If approved by the Obama administration, the change would affect only new applicants and virtually everyone in the program now would continue to receive health benefits, officials said. Children would continue to be accepted.

Nonetheless, advocates said it would eliminate a future health care avenue for thousands of working poor residents.

The state estimates that about 23,000 people in the coming fiscal year would be prevented from enrolling in Medicaid and New Jersey FamilyCare, a spinoff program for working poor who make slightly more than the Medicaid limits.

The Christie administration is expected to propose cutting the maximum income level of Medicaid from $24,645 to $5,317 a year for a family of three, said Ray Castro, senior analyst for New Jersey Policy Perspective, a left-leaning think tank, who was briefed by administration officials. State officials confirmed the figure

Income of $5,317 PER YEAR for a family of three to qualify for Medicaid! Christie and his wife earn that much in a MONTH and they qualify for the best FREE taxpayer funded health benefits imaginable!

4. Yes, you said it and it's true.
It is economic genocide. I also refer to it as economic eugenics.

2. Yet the state has enough money to approve a funding bailout for Xanadu
This is a disgrace. Christie is a terrible governor.

3. And while crying "We're broke" Christie also found enough money
To hand over $261 million to help billionaires complete the Revel Casino in Atlantic City where gambling revenue was down almost seven percent last year alone! ALL WHILE GIVING NEW JERSEY'S MILLIONAIRES A TAX BREAK!

Sound familiar? Typical Republican economic dogma. No different from Walker, Kasich, Snyder, Scott or any of the others. Christie is nothing more than a teabagger idiot in disguise.

5. Christie and his wife make more than that every WEEK
His salary as governor is $175,000. The latest disclosure forms show that his wife made between $250,000 and $500,000 from her part-time (!) job at Cantor Fitzgerald. They also have investment income from Goldman Sachs hedge funds and stock sales and royalty income of between $5000 and $20,000 from Listerine. http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2011/05/gov_chris_christie_mary_pat_ch.html

So that looks like a minimum of $500,000, which would be about $10,000 per week, and it could be a good bit more.
