Another reason Newt won't be elected
Newt is a whore, he will sell himself to anyone who is in front him with a shiny penny. Yesterday morning Newt was against all Federal research spending, but last night when he spoke to a group working on Alzheimer's Disease he spoke of the need for more Federal research funds for the treatment of ...can you guess?... Alzheimer's Disease. If he were speaking to a group of tree surgeons he would be demanding research funds for their pet needs just as quickly. He is for whatever pleases the crowd that happens to be in front of him at the moment and he makes no real attempts at keeping his story straight from one day to the next. He can get away with that, for the most part*, with today's Press but sooner or later people start noticing it for themselves.

* With the notable exceptions of two true friends of Democracy, Rachel Maddow and Amy Goodman, there is next to no reporting of fact or in-depth analysis of politics reported in our popular (TV) Press.

1. Newt should stay in close touch with the Alzheimer's group. He is
showing signs of forgetting what he said only the day before....

2. That in no way hurt McCain
McCain was all over the map on issues but won. Why, because he's a whore that will do what the Republican $$ men want him to do and they know it. That's why Newt still has a chance too. If Republicans voted based on the fact their candidates change their position say protecting Medicare by dismantling medicare, then there would be no Republicans in elected office. Obviously Republican voters careless about these things than independents and Dems.
