Rape and Murder of Lesbian Called a Hate Crime…Police Slow to Take Action

Human Rights Watch says the rape and murder of a prominent lesbian activist in South Africa is a hate crime but police have made no arrests, reported the Christian Science Monitor May 13. Lesbian and gay activists say police don’t take crimes against homosexuals seriously. On April 24, Noxolo Nogwaza was gang raped and stoned to death.
