Surprise, surprise : A fairly extensive collection of porn found at the Bin Ladin House.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A stash of pornography was found in the hideout of Osama bin Laden by the U.S. commandos who killed him, current and former U.S. officials said on Friday.

The pornography recovered in bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, consists of modern, electronically recorded video and is fairly extensive, according to the officials, who discussed the discovery with Reuters on condition of anonymity.

The officials said they were not yet sure precisely where in the compound the pornography was discovered or who had been viewing it. Specifically, the officials said they did not know if bin Laden himself had acquired or viewed the materials.

Reports from Abbottabad have said that bin Laden's compound was cut off from the Internet or other hard-wired communications networks. It is unclear how compound residents would have acquired the pornography.

But a video released by the Obama administration confiscated from the compound showed bin Laden watching pictures of himself on a TV screen, indicating that the compound was equipped with video playback equipment.

1. I'd like to find an internet enabled
computer anywhere in the world that doesn't have a stash or porn on it.

5. That's my reaction. I don't believe anything the government tells me ...
... unless there are credible sources that back it up. The government talks to us like we're children. Bin Laden killed thousands of Americans. Why the hell would I care if he watched porn?

13. Remember that whole "bin Laden's playboy days" story?
Edited on Fri May-13-11 12:59 PM by EFerrari
It was a complete fantasy. He never had playboy days. He's always been a dour, straight, devout whackjob.

/oops

8. I'd be willing to bet you would not even question the same being
found in the house of some American religious fundamentalist. Because the fundamentalist are never out and out hypocrites, right?

10. One should always have "some guys" to destroy/hide the porn in the event of untimely death.
Of course, those guys got themselves shot in the fracas.

21. And "some guys" to plant it when people start complaining about assassination without trials.
I'm completely surprised that it wasn't child pornography. That usually ends all arguments.

14. Like, maybe an Elvis concert video, or a women showing their faces?
I wonder by whose definition the findings, if there were any, were "porn." We Americans can't decide among ourselves what "porn" is, and to narrow it down even further, we progressives can't decide among ourselves what porn is. And then there is the political advantage of US forces having (alledgedly) found "porn" at ObL's compound. Color me skeptical, but it just seems awfully convenient.

16. The problem is, so does everyone else.
So porn as a marker for "evil villian" is dicey.

File it along with Noriega's "porn collection".

20. Of course, if I wanted to discredit bin Laden post-mortem...
...especially with his Taliban followers, this is exactly the story I would put out there.

Not saying it isn't true, just saying it may be and it may not be. I don't trust anything from official sources anymore. They're all playing games and they're all doing psyops.
