Where oh where has the National Guard gone and why doesn't the media seem concerned?
This spring has hit this country hard with tornadoes and flooding at record numbers. There is one thing missing however and that is the National Guard and coverage of our troops helping the nation recover. I wonder who is helping to clean up after these disasters? I wonder why we don't hear more about the recovery and those who are helping our communities.

Mister President please bring the troops home. The National Guard is needed here.

6. Lots were sent to Iraq -- remember, that hampered the response to Katrina. But recently,
I also saw a TX national guard facility for sale, and wondered . . .

7. Recently some of our Ohio guard has returned from Iraq.
I know the guard is busy but it seems so strange to me that they aren't even expected at the scene of our national emergencies anymore. Overworked or dwindling numbers, I' not sure which. Another thing that * touched and destroyed, I fear.

8. There were plenty of them in Tuscaloosa after the tornadoes
I'm sure they were sent to the other towns that were hit too, but I was in T-town in the days after the storms and they were a huge help.

9. Looks like NG aided disaster response in Alabama, Arkansas and Missouri, at least

This has been the largest Alabama National Guard domestic response in Alabama's history.

12. NG also activated in LA, IL, UT, KY, and TN
They were on call in ND--not sure if they were activated there. A quick search shows reports from all of those states.

13. Not to be rude but the point was that we do not see the coverage in the press.
I certainly haven't seen it here. I was in no way questioning the guard. Just saying. Thank you for the report.
