Palin seeks extension of order against stalker
Edited on Mon May-09-11 11:15 AM by RamboLiberal
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin wants to extend a restraining order against a 19-year-old Pennsylvania man accused of stalking the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, her family and friends.

At today's hearing, a magistrate in Anchorage will consider Palin's request to extend the order against Shawn Christy of McAdoo, Pa., by six months. Palin's father, Chuck Heath, and her friend, Kristan Cole, are also seeking long-term protective orders against Christy's parents, Craig and Karen Christy.

Craig Christy, also of Pennsylvania, is accused of barraging Palin's parents with harassing telephone messages, including 26 in one day, and contacting Cole's children on Facebook. Cole's request for a protective order against Karen Christy was denied last month.

Palin and Cole obtained original restraining orders against Shawn Christy last year, stating in court documents that he threatened them, sent a receipt for a gun purchase and said he was buying a one-way ticket to Alaska. This year, Shawn Christy flew to Alaska on Palin's February birthday, spending just one day in Anchorage -- about 40 miles from Palin's hometown of Wasilla -- before returning to Pennsylvania. The visit was monitored by authorities.

Gabby Giffords, President Obama and a lot of other Dems should've got such orders against you when you put targets on them & whipped up your whacky followers with gun phrases such as reload!

Read the story - weird at both ends. I can't feel sorry for Palin being stalked by her own version of Loughner though I certainly hope this whacko does no harm to her or her family.

3. Yes they are - just pisses me off that Palin doesn't think
about the danger she puts Dems in when she whips up her crowd with gun language and treasonous attacks or put crosshairs on them.

4. I'm no fan of Palin
or her brood but she should be entitled to the same protection we all need when being harrassed.

6. It's just a shame that someone so obsessed with her doesn't follow her example and just quit.
We could call them both "quitbulls"

7. Palin is dangerous.
Remember the map off the cross hairs with Gabby Gifford's district on it? What she did was more dangerous than what this alleged stalker ever did.

5. Stalkers are serious business and need to be treated as such.
Palin is not a serious person, but unlike her, most stalkers never quit. Regardless of what she's said about "targets" on her political opponents, her security needs to be taken seriously.
