WOMAN CAUGHT TRANSPORTING HEROIN INSIDE BODY CAVITY
http://news.delawarecountysheriff.com/?p=777(DELAWARE COUNTY, OH) May 6, 2011- A woman is in custody today after a traffic stop resulted in 47 balloons of heroin being seized. Yesterday at 4:25 p.m. a Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputy was advised of a vehicle in route to Columbus to purchase heroin. The Deputy followed the suspected vehicle and observed a female exit the vehicle and enter another vehicle. After a brief drive around the block the female exited the vehicle and got back into the suspect vehicle. The Deputy followed the suspect vehicle as it began traveling northbound. The Deputy initiated a traffic stop after observing the overly cautious driving patterns of the vehicle.
Sheriff Walter L. Davis III said: “Once the driver was removed from the vehicle he was questioned about the possibility of having drugs. The Deputy then asked the passenger if she was concealing drugs and she admitted that she did in fact have heroin inside her body and would retrieve it for the Deputy.”
The passenger was arrested and identified as 20-year-old Tiffany Giummo. Tiffany faces a felony charge of possession of drugs. Giummo is currently held in the Delaware County Jail.
Sheriff Davis said: “Heroin is already an extremely dangerous drug but transporting it inside the body has taken this danger to another level. Transporting heroin inside the body raises the risk of the drug entering the system in unknown quantities which could result in overdose or death.”
