IF what the SEALs brought out of Bin Laden's house is 10% as deep
as it COULD be, I wouldn't want to be anywhere NEAR an Al Queda member.......

SEAL teams could be very busy for a while.

5. There could be EVERYTHING needed to dismantle the organization,
the information on dozens of thumb drives, 5 or 6 computers......Just the cell phones are going to divulge loads of stuff......

The potential is really astounding....10% of that would be excellent.

20. I am guessing a mix. Special forces when collateral damage minimization
is the objective, missiles when terrorists and known associates are isolated in a way to make a missile kill possible. Terrorists will have armed drowns flying over their heads, waiting.

8. Surely they aren't that foolish.
I would think AQ would insulate critical info. They had to know that OBL would run out of rope at some point.

9. You'd think so, but they were using regular cell phones on a daily basis.
Huge breach of security-- maybe they over-estimated their level of safety.

28. The two brothers were using the same phones over and over. OBL was never heard on the intercepts.
So maybe he was using throw-away phones, but it didn't matter.

10. I dunno - they haven't seemed like brain surgeons so far -
The 9/11 attacks surpassed Bin Laden's wildest dreams (according to a quote attributed to him)

But they have been notoriously inconsistent since. Not a very good terrorist outfit, more like the gang who lit their own balls on fire.....

Some brains at the top, other than that, not so much.

And I DO believe there could be a trove of information, I believe that hubris and laziness exists in terror organizations like it does everywhere else.

32. The story of the "pilots" getting to the planes gleaned
from eyewitnesses and surveillance cams, was reminiscent of a Keystone Kops episode. Amazing they were able to pull it off.

16. I hope you are right.
I have had a bit of experience with Middle Easterners and they are capable of pulling the damnedest stunts.

Back in the 80s, we were selling mobil drilling rigs to Iraq and brought four of their engineers over for training.

Within a month, our company (known world-wide) was black-balled by every car rental agency in Houston and they had burned down one of our homes (we were providing housing, as well) by ripping up carpet in the den so they could roast meat over an open fire. They set the fire in the goddam HOUSE because it was raining outside.

They fucked up so much stuff that we decided it would be better to send them back to Iraq along with some of our people.

I'll have to admit, though, that they were some of the funniest, most innocent and sweet people I have ever spent time around.

25. If they are this inconsistent then there has to be
some Western official/s involved in selling information to them, giving them key strategic information when and how they should
envisage carnage, has to be.

17. You might think so, but when you come down to the root of it
they are religious fanatics who think god is on their side. They don't exist in normal reality. And after him successfully evading the US for fifteen years, they might have reason to think he'd never get caught.

is what will lead to a trove of info from the computers, the thumb drives and the cell phones.....

AQ most likely got sloppy.

23. I would think that the AQ posse would at least be smart enough...
to use strong encryption to secure their devices; hopefully not smart enough to use an equally strong pass phrase/pass word like "Allahu Akbar", "9/11" or

"Infidel".

Hmmmm... what would be the odds of the password being "Geronimo" or "Jack Pot"?

B-)

15. The SEALS took the sims from the phones for sure
Cos in one of the released pictures I see a cellphone battery lying around in a pool of blood. Obviously they secured the sim cards(which can be only taken out after the battery is taken out of the phone)

I hope a lot of valuable info comes out of this haul

Did I say that they would cause accidental damage? I only pointed out that they were through in their search and must have pocketed the sim cards as well, leaving no stone unturned.

I believe you must have misunderstood my post.

cheers
