RWer retracts his criticism of Obama
he now believes Obama acted more biblically-correct than he himself did.

http://blogs.cbn.com/thebrodyfile/archive/2011/05/02/obamas-bin-laden-speech-misses-mark.aspx

To Brody File readers: I don't normally do this. As a matter of fact, I think this is the first time ever. But I want to amend my previous comments below regarding President Obama's remarks about Osama Bin Laden's death.

As you will see below, I wrote about how President Obama should have shown some happiness and joy when he delivered the news to the nation about bin Laden's death. Maybe I should have read Proverbs 24:17 before I wrote that.

Proverbs 24:17 says: "Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice."

President Obama actually lived by that important biblical verse by the words and tone he used. I did not and for that I apologize. While I do believe that his remarks were measured so as not to cause more commotion in the Arab World, I got a little caught up in the euphoric celebrations of the evening. The Book of Proverbs got it right and therefore so did President Obama. Pulling out the Bible is the best thing you can do and I wish I had done it sooner.

being a peacemaker and turning the other cheek.

They'd find a lot in there if their eyes weren't glazed over with greed.

That reminds me, didn't Jesus say something about loaning money with interest?

Ah, yes...here it is:
The narrative of Jesus and the Money Changers, commonly referred to as the Cleansing of the Temple, occurs in all four Canonical gospels of the New Testament.

In this episode Jesus and his disciples travel to Jerusalem for Passover, where he expels the money changers from the Temple, accusing them of turning the Temple to a den of thieves through their commercial activities.<1><2> In the Gospel of John Jesus refers to the Temple as “my Father’s house” thus making a claim to being the Son of God.<3>

This is the only account of Jesus using physical force in any of the Gospels. The narrative occurs near the end of the Synoptic Gospels (at Mark 11:15–19, 11:27–33, Matthew 21:12–17, 21:23–27 and Luke 19:45–48, 20:1–8) and near the start in the Gospel of John (at John 2:13–16). Some scholars believe that these refer to two separate incidents, given that the Gospel of John includes more than one passover.

Jesus used physical force? I never knew that!

12. All they care about are the parts about homosexuality
And they evidently misread "Feed the poor" as "Fuck the poor"

1. Uh, continue reading, jerk.
People who have at least an ounce of humanity don't have to go running to a book to figure out how to act. Stupid ass.

3. You are slurring progressives of all religious faiths with that remark.
People of faith aren't all conservative, and some are active DUers.

Are you big enough to admit that you can be wrong?

2. Always nice to see an example of a RWer who, upon further reflection,
can positively alter his opinion.

4. Yes, I too always check the Bible to make sure everything I say is OK with God. Not!
People whose entire lives revolve around a book of fairy tales are pathetic in my eyes.

11. And people who so easily dismiss and insult those who believe are pathetic in mine
Just because somebody draws strength or meaning from something you or I personally do not believe in does not make them pathetic.
