Sarah Palin to Obama: Stop "pussyfooting" and release Osama bin Laden photo

Sarah Palin on Wednesday called on President Obama to stop "pussy-footing around" and release post-mortem images of Osama bin Laden.

In a Tweet posted shortly after the president announced he would not be releasing the images, Palin chided him for his decision: "Show photo as warning to others seeking America's destruction. No pussy-footing around, no politicking, no drama;it's part of the mission," she wrote.

In an interview with CBS' 60 Minutes on Wednesday, Mr. Obama explained his decision not to make the images public.

"It is important to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head are not floating around as an incitement to additional violence or as a propaganda tool," the president told CBS News' Steve Kroft.

I was interested to see the photos, but I'm 100% sure President Obama is doing the right thing and not releasing them just based on how badly the crazies want to see them. They will use this against him somehow and he knows it.

Once Bin Laden was killed, the right wingers have to figure out how to react. So they get their talking points in order and then go out and make their statements. In Palin's case, the first thing she did was to thank Bush for having laid the groundwork for getting Osama; oddly, she did not manage to mention President Obama at all. Also oddly, she never thanked Bush for laying the groundwork for the financial collapse, but I digress.

Next thing you know, the press is all agog over whether the White House will release the photos of a dead Bin Laden or not. So, the little reptilian brain starts a-stirrin' and a-whirrin', thinking "How can I work it to my advantage either way?" So she sits down with a trusty advisor or two, and they cook up two responses: 1 - how to respond if he decides he won't show the photos (that's the response she ended up using, i.e. "Obama's a wimp!"); 2 - how to respond if he decides to show the photos (probably something like "Obama has just shown how crass he is!"). You get the drift.

If there is one thing I have learned in life, it's this: if you're dealing with a bully / abuser, whatever you do or don't do will not change their behavior one little bit. Therefore your best bet is to act as you see fit and never, ever consider what their reaction might be, because it doesn't matter at all. They are hard wired to kick you, and kick you they will. The thing about Ms. Lantern Jaw is that as she becomes more irrelevant she becomes more shrill. It's kind of fun to watch, actually. I'm looking forward to the time when someone throws cold water on her and she really does start to melt. It can't happen too soon.
