Response to those who think the Admin. did not really kill Osama
Edited on Wed May-04-11 04:05 PM by markpkessinger
Consider this: let's suppose this is all a big lie, and they did not kill Osama as claimed. What administration in its right mind would lie about such a thing, knowing that, at any moment, they could be proven wrong, and their credibility with the public would thenceforth be irreparably harmed? Whatever you think of the President's policies, and whether or not you believe he would lie about such a thing, he is not that politically stupid. Think about it.

I've voiced my share of criticisms of this President and his administration -- criticisms I believed and still believe are valid -- but on this particular score, I give the President credit. And the case the naysayers are making defies the simplest political logic.

5. Hardly any. There was discussion about whether or not he was already dead
But that's been going on all over the world for several years

3. All it would take is another video message from OBL
With a few reference to current events that took place after OBL's death. If he is in fact alive, he would do that in a second, and news media all around the globe would carry it.

6. OBL is mowing my lawn as we speak.
Works cheap, does a nice job, says he was framed by Bush.

Hell, I believe him.

12. Agreed... if he were still alive
there is no way he would let America gloat over his death.

10. I don't think that the concern is that people won't believe that Bin Laden
is dead. I think the concern is that people will think that something miraculous happened concerning Bin Laden and his death -- that some really strange myth about his life or death will arise. Seeing a photo of his body and seeing it in the state in which Bin Laden's body was will put some of the inevitable wishful thinking about him to rest.

Once the information from the hard drives and other materials that were found are made public, once people are given a view of the conspiracies in which Bin Laden was involved (assuming the claims to be true), then the mythmakers will hopefully be silenced. But that all will take a long time.

Personally, I expect some arrests and other follow-up activities that will add to the historical record on the Al Qaeda movement and discourage myths and heroic stories.

11. I don't think the theory is whether he is still alive
but whether he died recently as described, or had been dead already for an indeterminate amount of time.

I agree its silliness to argue he is still alive.
