Breaking: White House will not release photo of Bin Laden
Edited on Wed May-04-11 03:35 PM by Mira
NBC News reporting - no link yet

I Heard it as Mike Papantonio and Ed Shultz discussed the very issue.

Edited to add that the reason given is the wish to not inflame the Isamic World
Will see if I can find the link

find it

1. If the Islamic world demands evidence then it may come out.
It's smart really.

3. My opinion about it is
that it was the classy thing to do. A distasteful mission has been accomplished and there is no need to gloat or swagger or pull out gore.

There are other ways this proof can be accomplished, without inflaming potential retaliation or the fires of hatred.
Bush would be enshrining the pistol in a photo op next to the pistol (was it a gun?) that is his trophy of Saddam's possessions.
That's one of the differences in our new administration, one that is easy to detect.

Class act versus the act of an ass, if you ask me.

7. Good. If it had been boooosh they would have hung him up to take
trophy pics with them standing beside him.

8. This decision has been made - I hope they stick to it
I don't begrudge others from wanting to see it even though I don't care one way or the other. However, now that the administration has made a decision I hope they don't give in to pressure to release the photograph.

9. I'm glad. Here's a suggestion . . .
Make the photos available to senators and representatives to view and validate to their constituents.

It could separate the statesmen from the crazies. Those who choose to view privately will either do so for their constituency or disbelief.

There is no reason for them to be publicized.
