Sometimes I wonder about the collective IQ of people. In the heat of the aftermath of the capture of Bin Laden, people are going to hear a gazillion stories.. as various people sort out what they know and what they don't

I think Rachael said it last night that people need to take a chill pill (or words to that effect) and stop reacting to each story as it comes down as the "10 commandments".

This is sorting itself out by the hour.. different people focus on different things and lose track of the larger picture.

Fox of all the new networks, and the right wing politicians.. have it gotten wrong so many times.. should just go and stand in the corner and stop trying to cover their asses trying to pass off on the torture aspect.

3. They sell lurid "BREAKING NOW" minutia
If it bleeds it leads, and if the minutia is churning, so much the better....

Lurid churning minutia.

4. Add to that the steady stream of
Idontknowwhattocallit here on DU that serves up endless speculation with the certitude of a was there opinion and I will heartily endorse your point. Too much speculation all over the spectrum. Chill pills for everyone.

6. I'm Tired Of The "Instant Experts"
No matter what the issue...be it killing bin Laden to how to fix Medicare or Trump's thing on his head, the cables round up the usual suspects to pontificate on whatever the topic du jour is. Amazing how these people know everything about everything. Almost rivals some on message boards who appear to have mastered the same "talent".

If I never hear the man's name again, I'll be happy. Ecstatic, even.

He's almost completely bumped the storms and damage in the south off the air.

19. Yes. In 1982.
I turned off commercial tv a long long time ago. As a result, I have avoided brain corrosion.

I may be a fool, but I don't feel the need to sort out the lies. Those who believe them aren't going to listen to the truth anyways. Linktv, Democracy Now, DU. But GE sponsored Idiocracy is hell.

20. Thought is essence -tially dialectic. If you live in an echo-chamber, there is no
(thesis <--> anti-thesis) <--> synthesis

This is one of the reasons that all of this repetition is so significant. Lots of people are assuming that there is meaning, but you will get into trouble if you try to analyze it, i.e. break it down into its elements and examine those.

21. Well here is a thing, that most folks really don't get
why is the story changing? There are 42 stories... each SEAL saw a different thing, and as debriefs continue...

Of course the story of the day is... they did their job... that's it. But the press is starting to try to sound smart.

Of course Fox and Friends... we need to see the footage of the operation... no you fox bunnies, you don't. It's classified for a FRACKING reason.
