Reuters/Ipsos poll: Obama gets credit for bin Laden death, but not by much
http://blogs.reuters.com/frontrow/2011/05/03/reutersipsos-poll-obama-gets-credit-for-bin-laden-death-but-not-by-much/

President Barack Obama gave the order for a daring raid on a compound inside Pakistan in which the most wanted man on earth was killed, but only 32 percent of Americans say he deserves the most credit for Osama bin Laden’s death.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll showed that 13 percent of Americans gave former President George W. Bush credit, while 25 percent said neither.

Most Americans, 52 percent, said the killing of bin Laden in the Sunday secret operation did not change their view about Obama’s leadership, while 39 percent said it improved their view and 10 percent said it worsened theirs.

Their views on Obama’s handling of the war on terrorism had a similar breakdown — 50 percent unchanged, 42 percent improved and 7 percent worsened.

1. This demonstrates the stupidity of the American public. That they cannot comprehend the revamping
of the CIA and the whole change in approach to terrorism only underscores the disconnect, and points to some very painful years ahead

From the election of reagan when regulation started to be destroyed, to the last 8 years of bush, that the public still doesn't get it is beyond me

In some polls it indicates that the public does not want them to touch social security and medicare, yet the republicans who have been quite upfront with their intention to effectively dismantle both programs still have a lot of support

3. This is not a telephone poll -- this is an Internet poll. Great skepticism is called for here.
Internet polls usually range from quite bad to completely unscientific. There are some exceptions, but they aren't the norm.
